NATIONAL ROAD, MARYLAND.

I herewith transmit, in accordance with the act of Assembly, passed "December session 1831, chap. 85," a true copy of my first semi-annual account and report of the affairs and condition of that part of the United States Road, within the limit of Maryland. All of which is respectfully submitted, by

FIRST SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT

OF

JONATHAN HUDDLESON, Superintendent of National Road within the limits of Maryland. Abstract of tolls received on the National Road in Maryland, from the first day of February to the first day of August, 1842. Amount of tolls received at toll gate No. 1 on the National Road, Md. for the month of February, 1842.

$623 93 I hereby certify that the above is the true amount of tolls received at toll gate No. 1, during the time specified, and that 1 paid over the same to J. Huddleson, superintendent.

Maryland, Allegany County, to wit:

PAUL BUTLER.

On the 10th day of August 1842, before me, the subscriber, a justice of the peace of the State of Maryland, in and for the same county, personally appeared Paul Butler, and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the above account and certificate is just and true, to the best of his knowledge and belief. Sworn before, JOHN WOLF.

August 10th, 1842.
