After that, before or after dinner, I read. S. 5. Psalm 126. But may be left out if the fecond day of the Month.
When the LORD turned again the captivity of Sion: then were we like unto them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter: and our tongue with joy. Then faid they among the heathen: The LORD hath done great things for them. Yea, the LORD hath done great things for us already: whereof we rejoyce. Turn our captivity, O LORD: as the rivers in the fouth. They that fow in tears: fhall reap in joy. He that now goeth on his way weeping. and beareth forthgood feed: fhall doubtless come again with joy, and bring his fheaves with him. Glory be to the Father,
§. 6. Pfalm 96. May be left out if the 19th. day, being then read in the Church.
fing unto the LORD a new fong: fing unto the LORD, all the whole earth. Sing unto the LORD, and praise his Name: be telling of his falva ion from day to day. Declare his honor unto the heathen: and his wonders unto all people. For the LORD is great, and cannot worthily be praifed: He is more to be feared than all Gods. As for all the Gods of the heathen, they are but idols: but it is the LORD that made the heavens. Glory and worship are before Him: power and honor are in his Sanctuary. Ascribe unto the LORD. O ye kindreds of the people: ascribe unto the LORD worship and power. Ascribe unto the LORD the honor due unto his Name: bring prefents, and come into his courts. O worship the LORD in the beanty of holiness: let the whole earthstand in awe of Him. Tell it out among the heathen that the LORD is King: and that it is He who hath made the round world fo faft that it cannot be moved, and how that He fhall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoyce, and let the earth be glad: let the fea make a noife and all that therein is. Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it: then fhall all the trees of the wood rejoyce before the LORD. For He cometh, for He cometh to judge the earth:aud with righteousness to judge the world, and the people with his truth, Glory be to the Father &c.

LORO, who fhall dwell in thy tabernacle: or who shall reft upon thy holy hill? Even he that leadeth an uncorrupt life and doth the thing which is right, and fpeaketh the truth from his heart. He that hath ufed no deceit in his tongue, nor done evil to his neighbor: and hath not flandred his neighbor. He that fetteth not by himself, but is lowly in his own eyes: and maketh much of them that fear the LORD. He that fweareth untohis neighbor, and disappointeth him not: though it were to his own hindrance. He that hath not given his money upon Ufury: nor taken reward against the innocent. S. 11. Pfalm 112. Except on the 23d. day of the month, when 'tis read in the Church.
BLESSED is the man that feareth the LORD: he hath great delight in his Commandments. His feed fhall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the faithful fhall be blefied. Riches and plenteousness fhall be in his houfe: and his righ teousness indureth for ever. Unto the godly there arifeth up light in the Darkness: he is merciful, loving, and righteous. A good man is merciful, and lendeth: and will guide his words with difcretion. For he fhall never be moved: and the righteous fhall be had in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of any evil tidings: for his heart ftandeth fast, and
believeth in the LORD. His heart is stablished, and will not fhrink: untill he fee his defire upon his enemies. He hath disperfed abroad, and given to the poor: and his righteous nefs remaineth for ever; his horn fhall be ex alied with ho nor. The ungodly fhall fee it, and it fhall grieve him: he fhill gnafh with his teeth, and confume away; the defire of the ungodly fhall perish. Glory be to the Father &c.
§. 12. Ashort Evening Prayer after the Sacrament; to be faid also on all the following feven days.
I Have this day, O Holy Savior, taken Thee into my Heart Olet thy Prefence banish away all mycorrupt Lufts and Atfections, that they may never turn it away from Thce again, fince now 'tis holy to the Lord; nor ever appear to pollute that place wherein fo Divine a Gueft is lodged. Seeing Thou haft been pleafed to enter under my Roof, have me always in thy keeping for I'm fate in no other hands. Preferve the place which Thou haft taken poffeffion of, and let not thine enemies and mine any more invade it. Pour into my heart all the Benefits of thy Crucified Body and Blond, fince now, by thy wonderful Grace, I'm made partaker of them. Thy Bloud was fhed for the Remiffion of fins; O! let me know and feet that mine are all forgiven. It obtain'd th'affiftance of thy Holy Spirit and Grace; O! let me ever injoy that, as I stand in need of it. It was the price which Thou paid ft down for Eternal Life; O! let that finally be my lot, fince Thou haft paid fo dear for i. Bid me hope afsuredly, O Blessed Jefu! that all this fhall be made good unto thy fervant, because now Thou haft given thy felf to me, and fed me with thine own Body, whereby may ft Thou ever dwell in me, and Iin Thee. Amen. So be it.
A night I obferve the directions in the Introduction, S. 38, to 42. Now, and every Sunday, and Holy-day.
Meditations after the Sacrement for the 5 principal
I Now remember, O Lord, thy ftupendious Love in fending thy Son, fo unexpectedly to Vifit us, when the World thought not of Thee, but were ftrangers, or rather Enemies
199 unto Thee. Blefsed be the Lord who has fo highly honored our Nature, as to dwell among us, and to appear in the likenefs of finful flesh. Preferve in me fuch a remembrance of it, that I may never difhonor Him nor my felf, by confenting to any filthiness either of flesh or Spirit but always behave my felf Sutably to the Relation I have to Him, in righteousness and holiness before Him all the days of my Life. Thank Thee, O LORD, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlafting God, Because Thou didst give Jesus Christ thine only Son to be born, as at this time, for us, who by the operation of the Holy Ghoft, was made very man of the fubftance of the Virgin Mary his mother, and that without fpot of fia, to make us clean from all fin. Therefore with Angels, and Archangels, and with all the company of heaven,I laud and magnify thy glorious Name, evermore praifing Thee, and faying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of thy glory. Glory be to Thee, O LORD moft high. Amen.
§. 2. Upon Eafter-day, and feven days after.
I Bless Thee, O Lord, who haft fulfilled thy promife unto our Savior, that Thou wouldst not leave his foul in hell, nor fuffer thy holy One to fee corruption. Blessed be God, who has here by confirm'd our Faith in the Promises He has made to us. This is the Day [time] which the LORD has made: we will rejoyce in it. This is the day [time] when our Savior was begotten again from the dead; and thereby has begotten us a gain unto a lively hope of immortal Life. This is the LORD's doing and it is is marvellous in our eyes. The Lord has showed us light; even the light of Life I will offer therefore perpetually the Sacrifice of praife and thanksgiving for his mercy towards us, which I fee by this indureth for ever.
Will give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, Holy Father Almighty, everlasting God, at all times, and in all places, but chiefly am I bound to praise Thee for the glorious Refurrection of thy Son Jefus Christ our Lourd: for He is the very Pafchal Lamb which was offered forus, and has taken away the fin of the World; who by his death has deftroyed death, and by his rifing to life again, has reftored to us everlasting life. Therefore with Angels and Archangels, and with all the com pany &c. as at the end of §. 1.
To this ladd the next Meditation if I intend not to Communicate
§. 3. Upon Afcenfion-day, and feven days after, Which I may add to that of Eafter, if am not to Communicate this day, nor the next Sunday.
BLESSED be God that Ifee Jefus, who was humbled a while, and made lower than the Angels, for the Suffering of death crowned now with glory and honor. Lift up my heart, O Bleffed Jefus to that high and holy place where Thou art exalted: and keep it fixed there: that, fetting my Affec tions on things above where Thou art at God's right hand, I may never do any thing that is unworthy of my Christian Profefsion: But have my Converfation in Heaven, from whence I expect Thee, O Bicised Jefus, who haft told us Thou art only gone before to prepare a place for us. Where Thou art, O Blefsed Lord, there let me be alfo: And at laft change this vile Body, that it may be fashioned like unto thy glorious Body, according to the working whereby Thou art able even to fubdue all things unto thy felf,
give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, Holy Father, Almighty, everlasting God, through thy most dearly be loved fon Jefus Christ our Lord, who after his moft glorious Refurrection manifeftly appeared to all his Apostles, and in their fight afcended up into heaven to prepare a place for us; that where He is thither we might allo afcend, and reign with Him in glory. Therefore with Angels and Archangels, and with all the Campany of heaven, I laud and magnify thy glorious Name, evermore praifing Thee, and faying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God of hofts, heaven and earth are full of thy glory. Glory be to Thee, O LORD most high, Amen.
§. 4. Upon Whitfunday and fix days after. And the. following with it, if I am not then to Receive again.
I Rejovce in the Comfort Thou haft brought us, O Holy Spirit of Grace, I rejoyce to hear (as Thou haft teftified by the wonderful Gifts bestowed on the Apostles,) that my deareft Savior is alive; and that He lives for evermore, and will never ceafe his Love to us, till we be there where He is. O infpire me more and more with thy heavenly grace, that, being ftedfaft in this Faith, I may bring forth all the fruits of the Spirit; and not only refift but overcome all Temptations in my way to heaven. Guide me by thy Counsel; ftrengthen me with thy Might; fupport me with thy Comforts, in all Neceffities, ftreights, and Dan
