* He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; bTo him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new nume written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

a With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabiters of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication, chap. xvii. 2. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies, xviii. 3. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 9. Behold, therefore, I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness. And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock, and shed blood, are judged and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy. And I will also give thee into their hand, and they Shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places : they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare. They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords. And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire

And the righteous men they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands. with fire. Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all woyour lewdness. And they shall remen may be taught not to do after compense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the LORD God, xxiii. 45-49.

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye, Ezek. xviii. 30-32.

But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you no other burden.

VER. 25.

Πλὴν ὃ ἔχετε, κρατήσατε ἄχρις οὗ ἂν σίας γράψον Τάδε λέγει ὁ ἔχων τὰ πνεύἥξω.

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; a and they shall walk with me in white: b for they are worthy.

VER. 9.

Ἰδοὺ, δίδωμι ἐκ τῆς συναγωγῆς τοῦ Σατανὰ τῶν λεγόντων ἑαυτοὺς Ἰουδαίους εἶναι, καὶ οὐκ εἰσὶν, ἀλλὰ ψεύδονται· ἰδοὺ ποιήσω αὐτοὺς ἵνα ἥξωσι καὶ προσκυνήσωσιν ἐνώπιον τῶν ποδῶν σου καὶ γνῶσιν ὅτι ἐγὼ ἠγάπησά σε.

Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, b which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have
