LESSON 6. Oh! be joy-ful in the Lord, all ye lands; serve the Lord with glad-ness, and come be-fore his pres-ence with a song. Be ye sure that the Lord he is God; it is he that made us, and not we our-selves. As for me, I will come in-to thy house, and wor-ship in thy ho-ly tem-ple. My voice shalt thou hear in the morn-ing, and in the e-ven-ing will I di-rect my pray-er to thee, and look up. LESSON 7. God that made the world, he is Lord of all, and dwells not in tem-ples made with hands. God is a spir-it, and they that wors-hip him must do it in spir-it and in truth. Lord, who shall dwell in thy house, or who shall rest in thy ho-ly hill? He that leads a god-ly life, and do-eth the thing which is right, and speaks the truth from his heart. Oh! en-ter in-to his gates with praise. LESSON 8. I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy works. I will be glad and re-joice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, oh! thou Most High. They that know thy name, will put their trust in thee. Keep me as the ap-ple of thine eye; hide me un-der the sha-dow of thy wings. Oh! that I had the wings of a dove; then would I fly a-way and be at rest LESSON 9. Bless-ed is the man that hath not walk-ed in the coun-sel of the un-god-ly, nor stood in the way of sin-ners, and hath not sat in the seat of the scorn-ful. But his de-light is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he med-i-tate day and night. He shall be like a tree plant-ed by the riv-ers of wa-ter, that will bring forth its fruit in due sea-son. LESSON 10. When I con-si-der the heav-ens, the work of thy fingers, the sun, moon, and stars, which thou hast or-dain-ed; Lord, what is man that thou art mind-ful of him, and the son of man that thou vis-it-est him? For thou hast made him a lit-tle low-er than the an-gels, to crown him with glo-ry and hon-our. How ex-cel-lent is thy name in all the earth! LESSON 11. O Lord our God, how great is thy name in all the earth thou hast set up thy glo-ry a-bove the hea-vens. : The word of the Lord is true, and all his works are faith-ful; the earth is full of his good ness. I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise. In the morn-ing, and at e-ven-ing, and at noon-day, will I pray un-to thee, and bless thy name. LESSON 12. The Lord is my shep-herd, I shall not want. He mak-eth me to lie down in green pas-tures, he lead-eth me be-side the still wa-ters. Though I walk through the val-ley of the sha-dow of death, I will fear no e-vil. Sure-ly good-ness and mer-cy shall fol-low me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ev-er. LESSON 13. The earth is the Lord's, and the ful-ness thereof; the world, and they that dwell there-in. Who shall as-cend in-to the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his ho-ly place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart; he shall re-ceive the bless-ing of the Lord. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye ev-er-last-ing doors, and the King of Glo-ry shall come in. Who is the King of Glory? the Lord strong and migh-ty; the Lord migh-ty in bat-tle. LESSON 14. Lead me in thy truth and teach me, for thou art the God of my sal-va-tion. Re-mem-ber not the sins of my youth, but ac-cord-ing to thy mer-cy re-mem-ber me, O Lord. All the paths of the Lord are mer-cy and truth, to such as keep his laws. What man is he that fear-eth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease, and his seed shall in-her-it the earth. |
