following the commandments of God, and walking from henceforth in his holy ways; Draw near with faith, and take this holy Sacrament to your comfort, and make your humble confeffion to Almighty God, meekly kneeling upon your knees.

Then Shall this general Confeffion be made by the Priest and People, both he and they kneeling humbly upon their knees with their faces towards the Altar, and faying,

ALmighty God, Father of our Lord Jefus

Chrift, Maker of all things, Judge of all men; We acknowledge and bewail our manifold fins and wickednefs, Which we from time to time moft grievously have committed, By thought, word, and deed, against thy Divine Majefty, Provoking moft justly thy wrath and indignation against us. We do earnestly repent, and are heartily forry for thefe our misdoings; The remembrance of them is grievous unto us, The burden of them is intolerable. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, moft merciful Father; For thy Son our Lord Jefus Chrift's fake, Forgive us all that is paft; And grant, that we may ever hereafter serve and please thee in newness of life, To the Honour and Glory of thy Name, Through Jefus Chrift our Lord, Amen.

Then ball the Priest (or the Bishop, being prefent) ftand up, and turning himself to the People, pronounce this Absolution. was the Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who of his great mercy hath promifed forgiveness of fins to all them, that with hearty repentance and true faith turn unto him; Have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your fins, confirm and ftrengthen you in all goodness, and bring you to everlasting life, through Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

This is a true faying, and worthy of all men to be received, That Chrift Jefus came into the world to fave finners. 1 Tim. 1. 15.

E do not prefume to come to this thy Ta ble, O merciful Lord, trufting in our own righteoufnefs, but in thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy fo much as to gather up the crumbs under thy Table; but thou art the fame Lord, whofe property is always to have mercy. Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, fo to eat the Flesh of thy dear Son Jefus Chrift, and to drink his Blood, that our inful Bodies may be made clean by his Body, and our fouls washed through his most precious Blood, and that we may evermore dwell in him and he in us. Amen.

I Then shall the Bishop if he be prefent, or else the Priest that officiateth, kneel down and receive the Communion in both kinds himself, and then proceed to deliver the fame to other Bishops, Priefts, and Deacons in like manner, if any be there prefent; and after that to the People also in order into their hands, all meekly kneeling. And when be delivereth the Sacrament of the Body of Chrift to any one, he shall fay,

Soul unto everlasting life.

And the Priest or Deacon that delivereth the Sacrament of the Blood of Chrift to any one, fball fay,

Note, when the Prieft receiveth the Communion. himself, he shall fay aloud the fame words which he doth when he delivereth it to any one, excepting that inftead of thee he shall fay me, and inftead of thy he shall fay my.

If there be a Deacon or other Priest, then shall he follow with the Chalice: And as the Priest miniftreth the Sacrament of the Body, fo fhall he (for more expedition) minifter the Sacrament of the Blood in form before written.

When all have communicated, the Prieft hall
return to the Altar, and reverently place upon
it what remaineth of the confecrated Elements,
covering the fame with a fair linen cloth.

Then the Prieft fhall turn to the People,
and Say,

The Lord be with you..

Then the Priest shall turn to the Altar; and Standing before it, he shall fay the following Collect of Thanksgiving.

ALmighty and everliving God, we moft heartily thank thee, for that thou doft vouchsafe to feed us, who have duly received thefe holy myfteries, with the fpiritual food of the most precious Body and Blood of thy Son our Saviour Jefus Chrift; and doft affure us thereby of thy favour and goodness towards us, and that we are very members incorporate in the mystical Body of thy Son, which is the bleffed company of all faithful people, and are also heirs through hope of thy everlasting kingdom, by the merits of the moft precious death and paffion of thy dear Son. And we moft humbly befeech thee, O heavenly Father, fo to affift us with thy grace, that we may continue in that holy fellowship, and do all fuch good works as thou haft prepared for us to walk in, through Jefus Chrift our Lord; to whom,' with Thee and the Holy Ghoft, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.
