An ACT to afford immediate relief to Philip Jones, and granting bim an annuity.

WHEREAS it has been represented to the legislature,

that Philip Jones enlisted in the service of his country early in the year one thousand seven hundred and seventysix, and faithfully served therein for the space of four years and eight months; that whilst in service he had his feet severely frozen, and one of his eyes so much injured by a stroke

on the night of the attack on the Block house; that he hath since lost the sight thereof; and that he is now far advanced in life, and from this circumstance and the causes aforesaid is incompetent to support himself by manual labour; Therefore,

SECT. I, Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is bereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the state treasurer shall, and he is hereby directed to pay Philip Jones, or his lawful attorney, the sum of forty dollars out of any unappropriated money in the treasury, nuity of like and an annuity of forty dollars for the use of Philip Jones, to amount to be paid half-yearly to Michael M'Clees, of Willistown townClees, for his hip, Chester county, his executor or executors, administrator or administrators, or his or their lawful attorney, to commence from the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ter, which annuity shall be expended by the said Michael M'Clees, his executor or executors, administrator, administrators, or his or their lawful attorney, in providing clothing, lodging and diet for the said Philip Jones, and it shall be, and it is hereby made the duty of the said Michael Michael M. CHAPTER XCVI.

An ACT to enable the Governor to incorporate a Company for making an artificial road from Anderson's ferry on the Sus quebanna, to intersect the turnpike road from the borough of Lancaster to Columbia, at or near the Five mile stone. SECT. I. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in

SECT. III. SECT. I.
