piece, 16 by 34 by 2 inches, for top doorstop at center (J). Fly screening.

Remove top and sides from box. Stretch fly screening across the sides of the box, securing it to the ends and bottom. (See fig. 88.) Cut sides into slats for top and bottom of refrigerator (D), space them about 1516 inches apart and nail them to the ends of the box over the screening. Nail (C) to the top front slat. Lay the roof (B) over (C) and the back top slat so that it extends over the back of the box, its ends and front flush with the ends and front of the box. Nail two cleats (H) to each end of the box so the shelves will be 5 inches apart and the bottom shelf 5 inches from the bottom of the box. The shelves are made by spacing four strips (E) about 1516 inches apart and nailing them to a cleat (H) placed about 3 inches from each end. Do not fasten the shelves to the cleats nailed to the ends of the box. Make the doorframes from two strips (F) and two strips (G), as illustrated, then cover the frames with fly screening. FOLDING BENCH LADDER

One box, 20 by 18 by 16 inches. Two pieces, 2532 by 2 by 6 inches, for step cleats (A). Two pieces, 2542 by 2 by 101⁄2 inches, for step cleats (B). Two hinges.

Remove top from box. Cut box at an angle through the ends and sides into two sections (C) and (D), as shown in Figure 90A. If the top of the box is made up of 2532-inch material, it may be used for steps (E) and (F). Cut these steps to fit in between the ends, (E) approximately 51⁄2 inches wide and (F) approximately 101⁄2 inches wide. Secure these intermediary steps to cleats as shown, halfway between the sides of the box. Note cleats

Two boxes, 30 by 14 by 12 inches, for end boxes (A). One box, 30 by 14% by 18 inches, for seat (B). One piece, 16 by 16 by 30 inches, for back (C). Four pieces, 6 inch by inside depth of (A) by inside width of (A), for shelves (D).

Remove one side from boxes (A) and top from (B). Fit and nail shelves (D) in place, dividing inside length of boxes equally. Arrange box (B) open top up between boxes (A) placed on end, and securely fasten them together as illustrated in Figure 89. Cut a piece of the removed top from (B) 3 inches wide and nail it over the top of the back of box (B). Cut a lid 12 inches wide and hinge it to the other piece.
