BARREL-STAVE HAMMOCK

Barrel staves or boards, strung with stout rope knotted, may be used for the hammock shown in Figure 22. The knots are on the under side of the staves, or boards; therefore they do not show in the picture. They are necessary to keep the staves from sliding against each other.

FOLDING TABLE TOP

Four boards 16 by 7 by 48 inches. Six butts (hinges).

You may want a larger or smaller table; if so, the lengths and widths of the boards may be altered to suit your needs. The boards are hinged together

FOLDING TABLE

One piece 8 by 10% by 36 inches, A. Two pieces e by 10 by 30 inches, B. Two tops 16 by 2916 by 36 inches, C. Four pieces 16 by 1s by 30 inches for legs D. Four pieces 16 by 11% by 2916 inches, E. Two pieces 16 by 1% by 31% inches, F Two pieces 716 by 10 by 35% inches, G. Three pieces 16 by 10 by 1418 inches for partitions K. Eight butts (hinges).

Construct the central box framework by nailing pieces A, B, and G together as shown in Figure 25. Edges of A should overlap edges of B6 inch. Nail partitions K in place, two between pieces marked G, and the other between A and G. Construct table tops C by cleating boards together with cleats

BEAN-BAG TARGET

Two boards 16 by 24 by 28 inches. Two pieces 16 by 12 by 12 inches for braces.

If the boards are made up of several pieces, cleats 16 by 1 inch may be used to hold them together. The boards may be hinged or nailed together as shown in Figure 30. If the boards are hinged together, a piece of chain or rope may be used to keep them at the correct distance apart; otherwise, two cleats nailed to the edges of the boards should be used. It will be necessary to use your keyhole saw to cut out the varied shaped holes in the boards.

DART TARGET

Two or three 16-inch boards, 211⁄2 inches in length, of sufficient width to make one piece 15 by 211⁄2

inches. Two pieces 16 by 11⁄2 by 15 inches for cleats. If the target is constructed of several pieces, they should be cleated together as shown in Figure 31. Lay out the 2, 4, 8, and 14 inch circles. The target may be suspended by a screw eye, screwed in the top cleat.

AUTO JACK

One piece 116 by 5% by 22 inches, A. One bolt 36 by 6 inches.

Cut a piece out of the center of A 21⁄2 by 19 inches. (See fig. 32.) From the piece removed cut a piece 14 inches in length. Cut a notch in one end. Bore a 1⁄2-inch hole 1 inch from the other end through the center of the piece removed. Bore 1⁄2-inch holes through the bottom ends of A for the 3-inch bolt
