dearly love you and who labour so hard to promote your temporal and eternal interests, it is natural to suppose, but if in addition, you have to blame yourself on account of having broken a divine command and occasioned them much sorrow, your condition will be distressing indeed. Let me then persuade you to ask forgiveness of God, through Jesus Christ, for your past sin; and seek grace from Him, that hereafter you may not only not grieve your parents, but be to them a source of very great comfort. W.H.F. REDEEMING THE TIME. REDEEM the morning of time. Remember there are three mornings to be redeemed. 1st.-Redeem the morning of youth. "Remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth." 2nd.-Redeem the morning of every day. "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." 3rd.-Redeem the morning of every year. Commune with thine heart on the years that are gone, and pray "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." A DIALOGUE BETWEEN HENRY AND JANE, ON THE WAY OF SALVATION. Jane-I want to know the reason why, Young children, like ourselves, must die? Henry-The Bible tells the dreadful causeWe've broken God's most righteous laws. J. But may we not reform our lives, And flee the death which never dies? The heir and partner of his throne. Could he expire on Calvary's tree? H.-The Son of God a man became, And died to bear our sin and shame. J. But if he's dead what can he do To save my soul from endless woe? H.-He conquered, when he died, and rose, Triumphant over all his foes. J.-Indeed! And where's the Saviour now! Do tell me when he'll save, and how? H. He reigns in heaven, and by his grace, Subdues and saves our fallen race. J. And are all saved from endless pain, The Saviour and his sacrifice. The souls that in his name believe. To those that early seek his face. J. C. N. THE DYING CHRISTIAN'S WELCOME. CHRISTIAN. HARK! my soul, cherubic choirs ANGELS. Welcome, welcome, sister spirit!
