33 Even as I please all men in all things, *not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
CHAP. XI. 1 He reproveth them, because in holy assemblies 4 their men prayed
with their heads covered, and 6 women with their heads uncovered, 17 and because generally their meetings were not for the better, but for the worse, as 21 namely in profaning with their own feasts the Lord's supper: 25 lastly, he calleih them to the first institution thereof. BE ye
a followers 1 of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye member me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

Phi. iii. 17 : Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. do. iv. 9: Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. 1 Thes. i. 6: And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost. 2 Thes. iii. 9 : Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. 1 Pet. v. 3 : Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
bľ Cor. iv. 17: For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church .
LUKE, i. 6. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. 1 Cor. vii, 17: As God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the fhead of Christ, is God.
d Rom. xiv. 9, 11: To this end Christ both died, and rose, , and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. It is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. Eph. i. 10: That he might gather together in one all things in Christ. do. v. 23: For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the Church : and he is the saviour of the body.
Gen. iii. 16 : Thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 1 Cor. xiv. 34: Let your women keep silence in the churches : for it is not permitted for them to speak ; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. Eph. v. 22-24: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the Church : and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the Church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Col. iii. 18: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord., i fim. ii. 11-13: Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man.-For Adam was first formed, then Eve. Tit. ii. 4, 5: That they teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 1 Pet. iii. 1, 5, 6: Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands ; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands : even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
f John, xiv. 28 : If ye loved me ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father : for my Father is greater than I. 1 Cor. iii. 23 : Ye are Christ's ; and Christ is God's.. do. xv. 27, 28: He hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith—all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God
4 Every man praying or $prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were ishaven.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn : but if it be a shame 4 for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the 'image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8 For the man is not of the woman ; but the woman of the man.
*uncomely. Co. may be all in all. Phi. ii. 7–9: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men : and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.

In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him. do. ix. 6: Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed : for in the image of God made he man.
m Gen. ii. 22: The rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
9 Neither was the man created for the woman ; but the woman for the man.
10 For this cause ought the woman oto have powers on her head P because of the angels.
11 Nevertheless 4 neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; "but all things of God.
13. Judge in yourselves : is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered ?
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him ?
15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her : for her hair is given her for a covering?
16 But if any man seem to be 'contentious, we have no such custom, neither the Churches of God.

17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
19 For there must be also heresies 9 among you, " that they which are approved 19 may be made manifest among you.
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat " the Lord's supper.
21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper : and one is hungry, and * another is drunken.
