met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

14 For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: b for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the Gospel of Christ :

15 Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you 12 according to our rule abundantly,

16 To preach the Gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line 13 of things made ready to our hand.

CHAP. XI.

1 Out of his jealousy over the Corinthians, who seemed to make more account of the false apostles than of him, he entereth into a forced commendation of himself, 5 of his equality with the chief apostles, 7 of his preaching the Gospel to them freely, and without any their charge: 13 showing that he was not inferior to those deceitful workers, in any legal prerogative: 23 und in the service of Christ, and in all kinds of sufferings for his ministry, far superior.

WOULD to God ye could bear with me a little in * my folly :' and indeed bear with 2 me. 2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy : for I have ° espoused you to one husband, ❝ that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the fserpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

that called you into the grace of Christ unto another Gospel. EPH. vi. 24: Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. COL. ii, 4, 8, 18: And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit. Let no man beguile you of your reward. 1 Tim. i. 3: As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine. do. iv. 1: Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.
