11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me. Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power :

CHAP. II.

1 He willeth them to continue stedfast in the truth received, 3 showeth that there shall be a departure from the faith, 9 and a discovery of antichrist, before the day of the Lord come: 15 and thereupon repeateth his former exhortation, and prayeth for them.

NOW we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our bgathering together unto him,

that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.
