3. No person shall employ in any capacity any white woman or girl or any Indian woman or girl in or permit any white woman or girl or any Indian woman or girl to reside or lodge in or to work in or, save as a bona-fide customer in a public apartment thereof only, to frequent any restaurant, laundry, or place of business or amusement where, in the opinion of the chief of municipal police of the municipality or the inspector of the provincial police of the police division in which the restaurant, laundry, or place of business or amusement is situate, as evidenced by a certificate in writing signed by him and posted up in his office, it is advisable in the interests of the morals of such women and girls, that they should not be employed, or reside, or lodge, or work therein, or frequent the same. 4. Every person who violates any provision of this Act shall, on summary conviction, be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred dollars. 5. Section 13 of the Municipal Act Amendment Act, 1919, is repealed. [Section 13 was as follows: "(1) No person shall in any municipality employ in any capacity any white woman or girl or permit any white woman or girl to reside or lodge in or to work in or, save as a bona fide customer in a public apartment thereof only, to frequent any restaurant, laundry or place of business or amusement owned, kept, or managed by any Chinese person. (2) Any employer guilty of any contravention or violation of this section shall, upon summary conviction, be liable to a penalty not exceeding $100, and, in default of payment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two months."] Assented to December 21, 1923. YUKON TERRITORY Licensing of Guides, etc. Chapter 5.-4. Subsection (1) of section 11 of said ordinance [i.e., The Yukon Game Ordinance] is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:"Provided that no Indian shall be licensed as a chief guide." 5. Subsection (2) of said section 11 is hereby repealed and the following enacted in lieu thereof: "(2) Any person who acts as guide, assistant guide, or camp helper to any non-resident hunter without first having procured a license as required by this ordinance shall be guilty of an offence against this ordinance. No Indian shall act as assistant guide or camp helper without having first procured a license to so act, and any Indian so acting without license shall be guilty of an offence against this ordinance."
