The examination gives the condition of the Company to date of May 31, 1898, and shows the condition of the Company on that date to be as follows: The reduction in the assets of the Company, as shown above, when compared with their report to you on December 31, 1897, is largely made up from an item they call "Initiatory Notes," and which they heretofore included in their assets.
