AN ACT to make perpetual the Act of the Sixth George the Fourth, Chapter fourth, intituled, "An Act for more particularly ascertaining the "damages on protested Bills of Exchange in the Province of Lower"Canada, and to suspend, for a limited time, certain parts of the "Ordinance therein-mentioned." Reign, Chapter fourth, the duration of which Act is limited to the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine: Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Assembly of the Province of Lower-Canada, constituted and assembled by virtue of and under the authority of an Act passed in the Parliament of Great-Britain, intituled, "An Act to repeal certain parts of an Act "passed in the fourteenth year of His Majesty's Reign, intituled, " An Act for "making more effectual provision for the Government of the Province of Quebec, in "North America," and to make further provision for the Government of the said "Province;" and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that all contained in 2d the provisions contained in the second and third sections of the said Act passed & 3d. sections in the sixth year of His Majesty's Reign, chapter four, intituled, "An Act for Geo. 4, cap. 4, "more particularly ascertaining the damages on protested Bills of Exchange in the Province of Lower-Canada, and to suspend, for a limited time, certain parts change sold or of the Ordinance therein-mentioned," shall be and the same are hereby exwithin this Pro- tended to all Bills of Exchange sold or negociated within the Province, alvince. though the same may not have been drawn on or by any person residing therein. CA P. II. AN ACT to appropriate a certain Sum of Money therein-mentioned, towards the support of the Emigrant Hospital established in Quebec. (14th March, 1829.) Preamble.
