And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that before the Estimates of building of the said Hospital shall be commenced, a plan and estimate of the of building the probable amount of the expenses of building and completing the same with its prepared and appurtenances, shall be prepared and submitted for the inspection and approlaid before the bation of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor or person administering the Government, by the Trustees to be appointed by virtue of this Act. me to be Governor, &c. When ap proved by the Governor, Trustees to contract in writing ror the erection of such Hospital, 14 days notice to be given in the Quebec News Papers of the work to be done. V. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that after such plan and estimate shall have been approved by the Governor, Lieutenant Governor or person administering the Government, it shall be lawful for the said Trustees, or any two of them, from time to time, to contract in writing, with any person or persons for the whole or such part or parts of the work to be done and performed in and about the erection of the said Hospital and appurtenances, or any part thereof, as they may judge necessary, as well for the conducting and superintending the works, as for the materials and hire of workmen and labourers, whom it may be necessary to employ in and about the building of the said Hospital and appurtenances: Provided always, that previous to making any contract or contracts as aforesaid, fourteen days notice at least shall be given in one or more of the public newspapers printed and published at Quebec and Montreal, specifying the work to be done, the materials to be contracted for, the time and place when and where proposals for the same will be received, and that such proposals as appear the most advantageous for the public, and for the purposes of this Act, will be accepted: Provided also, that no work shall be commenced until the contracts have been signed by the contracting parties, approved by and by two good and sufficient sureties for the due performance of their undertaking, and for the delivery of the said Hospital and appurtenances, perfectly complete and finished, according to the report of experts à dire d'experts) nor until such contracts have been approved by the Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, or person administering the Government. Et qu'il soit de plus statué par l'autorité susdite, qu'après que tel plan et estimation auront été approuvés par le Gouverneur, Lieutenant-Gouverneur, ou la personne ayant l'administration du Gouvernement, les dits Sysdics ou aucun d'eux d'entr'eux pourront de tems à autre entrer en marché par écrit avec quelque personne ou personnes pour toute ou aucune partie des ouvrages qui doivent être faits et confectionnés par rapport à la bâtisse du dit Hôpital et ses dépendances, ou d'aucune partie d'iceux, ainsi qu'ils le jugeront nécessaire; de même que pour la conduite et la surveillance des ouvrages que pour les matériaux, et le choix des ouvriers et des travailleurs qu'il deviendra nécessaire d'employer à la bâtisse du dit Hôpital et des dépendances: Pourvu toujours, qu'avant de faire aucun marché ou marchés comme susdit, il sera donné avis au moins quatorze jours au préalable dans un ou plusieurs des Papiers Nouvelles Imprimés * à Québec et à Montréal, faisant mention de l'ouvrage qui doit être fait, les matériaux à l'égard desquels on doit entrer en marché, et les tems et lieu où les propositions doivent être reçues, et que telles propositions qui paraîtront les plus avantageuses au public, et pour les fins de cet Acte, seront acceptées Pourvu toujours, qu'aucun des dits ouvrages ne sera commencé jusqu'à ce que les marchés aient été signés par les parties contractantes et par deux cautions bonnes et solvables pour l'accomplissement fidèle de leur entreprise, et de livrer le dit Hôpital et dépendances parfaitement confectionné et parachevé à dire d'experts, ni jusqu'à ce que tels marchés aient été approuvés par le Gouverneur, Lieutenant-Gouverneur, ou la Personne ayant l'administration du Gouverne ment. et mis devant &c. Les Syndics rendront tems en tems VI. MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN, WHE 66 HEREAS it is expedient to appropriate a certain sum of Money for the encouragement of Agriculture, May it therefore please Your Majesty, that it may be enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Assembly of the Province of Lower Canada, constituted and assembled by virtue of and under the authority of an Act passed in the Parliament of Great Britain, intituled, "An Act to "repeal certain parts of an Act passed in the fourteenth year of His Majesty's Reign, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual provision for the Government of the Province of Quebec in North America," and to make further provision for the Government of the said Province;" and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that it shall be lawful for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor or person administering the Government of this Province for the time being, to advance and pay by Warrant or Warrants under his hand a sum not exceeding one thousand five hundred and fifteen pounds currency, out for grant of the unappropriated monies in the hands of the Receiver General of this Province, for the encouragement of Agricultural improvement in this Province for the present year, one thousand eight hundred and thirty, which said sum shall, from time to time be advanced and paid as may be deemed necessary to the Agricultural Societies for the Districts of Quebec and Montreal, and in the proportions herein after stated for each respectively as follows, that is to say for the uses of the counties in those Districts respectively as follows that is to say :To the Agricultural Society of Quebec a sum not exceeding three hundred and fifty-five pounds currency; To the Agricultural Society of Montreal, a sum not exceeding seven hundred and sixty pounds currency; and a further sum not exceeding two hundred pounds currency, for the said Agricultural Society of the District of Quebec; a further sum not exceeding two hundred pounds currency for the said Agricultural Society for the District of Montreal.
