tain sums of Lieutenant-Governor, or person administering the Government, to advance and Money for the pay from time to time, during the present year, by a Warrant or Warrants under purposes of this Act. The sums. his hand, from and out of any unappropriated monies in the hands of the Receiver General, the following sums for the several purposes hereinafter particularly specified and mentioned, that it is to say,-Firstly,-To the Religious Ladies of the General Hospital at Quebec, for the support of the Insane Persons in the cells of the said Hospital, a sum not exceeding six hundred and fifty-eight pounds, six shillings and eight pence currency; for defraying the expenses of the necessary repairs to the cells of the said General Hospital, a sum not exceeding fifty pounds currency; for the support of Sick and Infirm persons in the said General Hospital, a sum not exceeding five hundred and eleven pounds currency; for furnishing the necessary clothing for the Sick and Infirm persons in the said General Hospital at Quebec, a sum not exceeding one hundred pounds currency. Secondly,-To the Religious Ladies of the Hotel Dieu de Quebec for the support of Foundlings, a sum not exceeding five hundred and eighty-five pounds currency; for furnishing the necessary linen and clothing for the said Foundlings, a sum not exceeding fifteen pounds currency; for the support of indigent sick persons in the said Hotel Dieu at Quebec, a sum not exceeding two hundred pounds currency :-Thirdly,-To the Religious Ladies of the Ursuline Convent at Three-Rivers, for making the necessary repairs to the cells erected in or near the said Convent, a sum not exceeding one hundred pounds currency; for the support of indigent sick persons in the said Convent, a sum not exceeding one hundred and fifty pounds currency; for the support of the Foundlings in the said Convent, a sum not exceeding one hundred pounds currency; for the support of insane persons in the cells of the said Convent, a sum not exceeding fifty pounds currency-Fourthly,-To the Religious Ladies, (Sœurs Grises,) of the General Hospital at Montreal, for the support of the Foundlings in the said Hospital, a snm not exceeding six hundred pounds currency; for the support of insane persons in the said General Hospital, a sum not exceeding two hundred and twenty pounds currency; and Fifthly,-To the Emigrant Hospital at Quebec, for the purchase of divers articles indispensibly necessary for the use of the said Emigrant Hospital, a sum not exceeding one hundred and fifty-seven pounds eight shillings currency. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that the Commis sioners for carrying this Act into effect, or others whom it may concern, and by whom the money hereby appropriated, shall have been applied and expended; shall within fifteen days next, after the opening of the ensuing Session of the Provincial Legislature, lay before the several branches thereof a detailed and full statement, or account of the manner in which the sums hereby appropriated have been laid out, applied, and expended. CA P. XXXVI. year AN ACT to appropriate a certain sum of money to pay a like sum, owing Preamble. MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN, W HEREAS it is expedient to appropriate a certain sum of money, to pay a certain sum due and owing by the Commissioners appointed under a certain Act passed in the Ninth Year of your Majesty's Reign, for more completely exploring certain parts of the Province: May it therefore please your Majesty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Assembly of the Province of Lower-Canada, constituted and assembled by virtue of and under the authority of an Act passed in the Parliament of Great Britain, intituled, “An "Act to repeal certain parts of an Act passed in the fourteenth year of His Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for making more effectual provision for the Government of the Province of Quebec, in North America ;" and to make further provision for "Government of the said Province;" And it is hereby enacted by the autho129rity of the same, that it shall be lawful for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor a like amount or Person Administering the Government of the Province, to pay by Warrant Commissioners or Warrants under his hand, out of any unappropriated monies in the hands of the under the Act Receiver General a sum not exceeding one hundred and twenty pounds nine shillings and six pence currency to pay a like amount due and owing by the Commissioners appointed under the authority of an Act passed in the ninth year of His Majesty's Reign, intituled, " An Act to appropriate certain sums "of money for more completely exploring certain parts of the Province," for so much by them expended for the said purpose over and above the sum appropriated therefor by the said Act. granted to pay due by the of the 9th Geo. 4, cap. 29.
