PART I OF INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT REPORT.

Part I of this report is comprised of 186 fatal and 7,909 non-fatal accident reports, these being the accidents reported to this Bureau by employers who were operating under the Workmen's Compensation law, which law went into effect May 1, 1912, and was repealed June 30, 1913. Table 1 is a summary of all accidents reported for the last six months this law was in effect, both fatal and non-fatal.

Five hundred fifty-two thousand four hundred fifty-two dollars and sixty-seven cents was paid out as compensation and for medical services, by the employers of the 186 killed and 7,909 injured.

FATAL ACCIDENTS.

Table 2 shows by industries the number of employees killed, causes, occupations, and the conjugal relations of the killed.

Table 3 shows the number of fatal accidents by industries together with the total compensation and medical services paid.

Two hundred three thousand five hundred seventy-six dollars and thirty-two cents was paid out by the employers as compensation and for medical services, on account of the 186 fatal accidents.

MONTHS IN WHICH FATAL ACCIDENTS OCCURRED.

Table 4 presents by months the fatal accidents. It will be seen that 9 of these accidents happened during 1912 but were not reported.

CLASSIFIED AGE PERIODS.

Table 5 presents the classification of the age of those meeting with fatal accidents.

The largest number for any one period was 33, these being between the ages of 25 and 30 years, while the average age of all is shown to be 37 years.

Table 7 shows, by industries, the hours between which the fatal accidents occurred.

The largest number during any one hour is shown to be 21, this being the number which were fatally injured between 1:00 and 2:00 P.M.
