And when the whole Multitude of the Infirm cry'd out with one Voice, This is the true God whom Peter preaches, im mediately the immenfe Light of the Grace of God appear'd in the middle of the Multitude, and those that had the Palfy ran to the Feet of Peter whole; the Blind, who had received their Sight, cry'd out; the Lame, who now had the ufe of their Feet, gave thanks; the Sick, who had recover'd their Health, rejoiced: Some that feem'd only to breathe, as being without Senfe and without Voice, were reftor'd: All thofe alfo that were Lunatick and poffefs'd with Demons, were freed from their Miferies.

- LXXI. The Holy Spirit did therefore fhew that day fuch his gracious. Power, that they all from the least to the greateft, with one Voice, confefs'd the Lord. And not to infift on many things, within feven days above ten thousand Perfons believed in God, and were baptized, and confecrated by Sanctification: infomuch that Theophilus, who was much the greatest Man in the City, did with mighty Zeal and Eagerness, confecrate a large Palace, by the name of a Church; wherein there was a Seat appointed by all the People for the Apoftle Peter: And the whole Multitude came to hear the Word every day, and believed that found Doctrine which the power of making many whole confirm'd to them."

LXXII. Then did I Clement, with my Brethren and Mother, speak to our Father, and enquired, whether any Reliques of Infidelity were ftill remaining in him? He faid, Come and you fhall fee in Peter's Prefence, how mighty an increase there is of Faith in me. Then came Fauftinia nus, and fell down at Peter's Feet, and, faid, The

Mind has received, are now fprung up, and are come to fuch an intire degree of Maturity, that there is nothing wanting but that you cut me off from my Stubble with that your Spiritual Sickle, and lay me up in the Lord's Garner, and fo make me partaker of the Divine Table. Then Peter took him by the Hand with great alacrity, and deliver'd him to me Clement, and to my Brethren, and faid; As God has restor❜d you the Children to you their Father, fo do you the Children restore you their Father to God. He alfo appointed a Faft to the whole Multitude; and on the next Lord's-Day baptized him: And taking occafion from his Converfion, he gave an account, in the midst of the People, of all the things that had befallen him; infomuch that the whole City received him as an Angel, and paid him no lefs refpect than they did to the Apostle himself.
