en is the righteoufnefs of faints.

And he faith unto me,

write, bleffed are they which are called unto the marriage fupper of the LAMB. And he faith unto me, these are

true fayings of God."

Thefe words are mentioned, after it is faid the Lord God omnipotent reigneth; while all his fervants, fmall and great, are called upon to praise him for what is done. It appears to me that thofe who are bleffed with the privilege of being called to the marriage fupper of the Lamb, are the fame bleffed and holy ones mentioned in chap. xx. 6, "Bleffed and holy is he that hath part in the first refurrection." It is plain to me from the prophecies,that the dead faints will be raised, and the living ones changed before the Jews are married to the LAMB-They will fee the Jews mourn, will hear them pray to the Lord in the air; will fee them delivered from their enemies, fee them fubmit, hear them fay bleffed is he that cometh, in the name of the Lord, will be witneffes of the marriage of the LAMB, when the Jews are received into the everlafting marriage covenant, never to be broken, never more to be put away forever. O what joy will all the raised and changed faints feel at that time! Then they will fee an answer to their prayer; "Lord bring in the Jews, Lord remember thy promife to Abraham thy friend." What joy will this be to Abraham, Ifaac, and Jacob, who will then be called unto this marriage fupper of the LAMB! Ah! Bleffed indeed fhall he be who is called to this marriage fupper of the Lamb!-

3. Another thing will take place after Chrift appears; which will be another great army, which will gather a gainst Jefus Chrift, to overcome him.

Jefus Chrift will appear on the earth the fecond time to leftore it, and the inhabitants who are not cut off by him, to a state of righteousness, all over the world. This is mentioned by Peter, Acts iii. 20, 21, " And he shall fend Jefus Chrift, which before was preached unto you; whom the heavens must receive, until the times of reflitution of all things, which God hath fpoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets, fince the world began." This text is brought by the univerfalifts to prove that all men.

will be finally faved; it has no reference to that; but is fpoken to fhew that God will hereafter fend Jefus the fecond time, to fhake the heavens and earth, and overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and brake down all human powers, and take poffeffion of all the kingdoms of the earth and be the only king to be acknowledged in all the world. When this reftitution takes place, wars will cease to the ends of the earth,and all nations will call him blessed.

It appears from the prophecies, that after Chrift has at his appearing, destroyed the army of Gog which came against Jerufalem, raised the dead faints, and restored the Jews to a ftate of holiness and obedience, that other kings with their armies will combine together to fight against him, as Gog did against Jerufalem; and though fome may think they will not dare to fight against the king of glory; yet it is as likely for them to do it, as it was for the combined powers ofCanaan to join against Joshua and Ifrael, after they knew how God overthrew Pharaoh and his hoft, dried up the fea, deftroyed Sihon and Og, threw down the walls of Jericho at the found of the ram's horns; and caufed them to go over Jordan dry fhod; yet we know that after all this they joined together to overthrow them; and the Lord overthrew them by hailftones, while the fun and moon stood still in their habitations. And even after all this the enemies of the Ifraelites dared to fight againft, and defied their God to undertake in their defence. It is as likely that other kings and their armies will fight against Jefus Chrift after he has flain Gog and his army, as it was for thofe kings to do it after others were flain by him. As this is plainly revealed, we may believe it without any hefitation.

This army which fhall be gathered against the king of glory, is mentioned in Revelation xix. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, "And I faw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that fat upon him was called Faithful and true; and in righteoufnefs he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew but he himself; and he was I

clothed with a vefture dipped in blood; and his name is called, the WORD OF GOD. And the armies which were in heaven were upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean; and out of his mouth goeth a sharp fword, that with it he fhall fmite the nations; and he fhall rule them with a rod of iron; and he treadeth the wineprefs of the fiercenefs and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture, and on his thigh, a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I faw

an angel standing in the fun; and he cried with a loud voice, faying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather yourselves together unto the fupper of the great God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and them that fet on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I faw the beaft, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together, to make war against him that fat upon the horse, and against his army. And the beaft was taken, and with him the false prophet, that wrought miracles before him, which deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image; thefe both were caft alive into a lake of fire, burning with brimftone. And the remnant were flain with the fword of him that fat upon the horse, which fword proceedeth out of his mouth; and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."

It is evident from this account, that there will be a general gathering againft Chrift from all parts of the earth, and that he will flay them, either by the sword of his mouth, or with the rod of iron, and the fire and brimftone which fhall be fent upon them as it was upon Sodom, though their bodies. will not be burnt; but will be given to the fowls of heaven,as a fupper prepared by the Lord Almighty. Such a flaughter among the nations of the earth will fweep off the greatest part of its inhabitants; and it is plain that the greateft part of the inhabitants of the earth, who are alive when Christ comes, will be flain. That this war and deftruction of the kings of the earth and their armies, will be at the appearing

of Chrift, and before all nations will call him bleffed, is plain; because it is mentioned immediately after the marriage of the Lamb, and before the binding of Satan. This fame army against the Lamb is mentioned in Revelation xvii. 14, "Thefe fhall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb fhall overcome them; for he is LORD of Lords, and king of kings; and they that are with him are called, and chofen, and faithful."

I once thought that all the government on earth, contrary to Chrift's, would be overthrown, before Chrift came to reign on the earth; but a better knowledge of the feriptures conftrain me to give up the belief as unfcriptural.

There is fo much faid of what Chrift will do when he comes, that I believe it will not be done until he comes and dwells on this earth, where he once came and did the work no other man could do. The work he then had to do, could not have been done, had he not appeared' in flesh, for if it could have been done he would have remained in glory; the work he fays, he will do hereafter requires him here in perfon. When this great army of all the kings of the earth are destroyed, then, and not till then, will all human governments, and human religions come to nothing.

There are at the prefent day,many powerful obftacles, which hinder the univerfal knowledge of God over the whole earth, many of thefe were in the way in the days of Chrift and the apostles, yet they were not removed; though God bore them witnefs with figns and wonders, and divers miracles,and gifts of the holy ghoft. I never expect there will be any thing more powerful to work upon the minds of Jews or Gentiles, than has been, until Chrift is feen coming in the clouds of heaven with power, and great glory: this will be the day of his power, when his people, the Jews, will be willing, and when Christ will frike through kings in the day of his wrath; when he will wound the heads over many countries, and fill the places with their dead bodies; when he will take to himself his great power, which will caufe the nations to be angry; yet he will flay them with the fword that

proceedeth out of his mouth. These are the things which now prevent the increase of the knowledge of God, and the happiness which will be enjoyed when all nations call

him bleffed.

1. The unbelief of the Jews.-2. The love of idols, which now prevails almoft over the whole world at this day.-3. The delufion which a great part of the world are in, on account of their belief of Mahomet, and his law. 4. The delufion which the doctrine of the church of Rome has caufed among the kings of the earth. (This is the man of fin.)-5. The great love men have to the commandments and doctrines of men, and those who have given out thefe commands and doctrines; it is true that thofe who reject thefe things are not perfuaded now as they once were; but those who embrace these are as much in love with human religion as ever they were, and would be as great perfecutors as any before them ever were, if the government allowed them in it.

These things remain among almost all nations at this day; There are a few names here and there, who have not defiled their garments; but in general it is not fo. When I fee what has been done, I give up the idea of ever expecting that all kings will ever ferve Christ until he appears on the earth; this time I believe is not far off.

Daniel faw the old Roman government ftanding under the figure of the beaft with iron teeth, when Chrift came to reign upon the earth. Then he fays, thrones will be thrown down. Daniel vii. 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, "I beheld till the thrones were caft down, and the ancient of days did fit, whofe garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool; his throne was like the fiery flame; and his wheels burning fire. A fiery ftream iffued, and came forth from before him; thousand thousands miniftered unto him, and ten thoufand times ten thousand stood before him; the judgment was fet, and the books were opened. I beheld then, becaufe of the voice of the great words which the horn fpake; I beheld, till the beaft was flain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As con
