on is the righteousness of saints. And he faith unto me, . vrite, blefled are they which are called unto the marriage junder of the LAMB. And he faith unto me, these are trus sayings of God.”

There words are mentioned, after it is said the Lord God omnipotent reigneth ; while all his servants, small and great, are called upon to praise him for what is done. It appears to me that those who are blessed with the privilege of being called to the marriage fupper of the Lamb, are the fame blessed and holy ones mentioned in chap. xx. 6, “ Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection.” It is plain to me from the prophecies that the dead saints will be raised, and the living ones changed before the Jews are married to the LAMB - They will see the Jews mourn, will hear them pray to the Lord in the air ; will see them delivered from their enemies, fee them fubmit, hear them say blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, will be witnesses of the marriage of the LAMB, when the Jews are received into the ever. lasting marriage covenant, never to be broken, never more to be put away forever. O what joy will all the raised and changed faints feel at that time! Then they will fee an answer to their prayer; “ Lord bring in the Jews, Lord remember thy promise to Abraham thy friend.” What joy will this be to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who will then be called unto this marriage supper of the LAMB! Ah! Blessed indeed shall he be who is called to this marriage supper of the Lamb !

3. Another thing will take place after Christ appears; which will be another great army, which will gather a. gainst Jesus Christ, to overcome him...

Jesus Christ will appear on the earth the second time to restore it, and the inhabitants who are not cut off by him, to a state of righteousness, all over the world. This is mentioned by Peter, Acts iii. 20, 21, “ And he shall fend Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you; whom the heavens must receive,until the times of rellitu. tion of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets, since the world began.” This text is brought by the universalists to prove that all men

will be finally faved; it has no reference to that ; but is fpoken to fhew that God will hereafter fend Jesus the second time, to shake the heavens and earth, and overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and brake down all human powers, and take poffeffion of all the kingdoms of the earth, and be the only king to be acknowledged in all the world. When this restitution takes place, wars will cease to the ends of the earth,and all nations will call him blessed.

It appears from the prophecies, that after Christ has at his appearing, destroyed the army of Gog which came against Jerusalem, raised the dead faints, and restored the Jews to a state of holiness and obedience, that other kings with their armies will combine together to fight against him, as Gog did against Jerusalem ; and though some may think they will not dare to fight against the king of glory; yet it is as likely for them to do it, as it was for the combined powers of Canaan to join against Joshua and Israel, after they knew how God overthrew Pharaoh and his host, dried up the sea, destroyed Sihon and Og, threw down the walls of Jericho at the sound of the ram's horns; and caused them to go over Jordan dry shod ; yet we know that after all this they joined together to overthrow them; and the Lord overthrew them by hail. stones, while the fun and moon stood still in their habita. tions. And even after all this the enemies of the Israel. ites dared to fight against, and defied their God to under'. take in their defence. It is as likely that other kings and their armies will fight against Jesus Christ after he has flain Gog and his army, as it was for those kings to do it after others were flain by him. As this is plaiuly reveal. ed, we may believe it without any hesitation - This army which shall be gathered against the king of glory, is mentioned in Revelation xix. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, “ And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse ; and he that fat upon him was called Faithful and true ; and in righteousness he doch judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written; that no man knew but he himself; and he was

clothed with a verture dipped in blood; and his name is called, the Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven were upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean; and out of his mouth goeth a sharp {word, that with it he shall smite the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture, and on his thigh, a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud · voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather yourselves together unto the fupper of the great God; that ye may eat the flesh ofkings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and them that set on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together, to make war again it him that sat upon the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet, that wrought miracles before him, which deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image ; these both were cast alive into a lake of fire, burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that fat upon the horse, which sword proceedeth out of his mouth; and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

It is evident from this account, that there will be a general gåthcring against Chrilt from all parts of the earth, and that he will slay them, either by the sword of his mouth, or with the red of iron, and the fire and brimftone which shail be sent upon them as it was upon Sodem, though their bodies. will not be burnt; but will be given to the fowls of heaven,as a supper prepared by the Lord Almighty. Such a slaughter among the nations of the earth will sweep off the greatest part of its inhabitants; and it is plain that the greatest part of the inhabitants of the earth, who are alive when Chrift comes, will be slain. That this war and destruction of the kings of the earth and their armies, will be at the appearing

of Christ, and before all nations will call him blessed, is plain; because it is mentioned immediately after the marriage of the Lamb, and before the binding of Satan. This same army against the Lamb is mentioned in Rev. elation xvii. 14, “ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them; for he is Lord of Lords, and king of kings; and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”

I once thought that all the government on earth, con. trary to Christ's, would be overthrown, before Christ came to reign on the earth ; but a better knowledge of

the scriptures constrain me to give up the belief as un· fcriptural.

There is so much faid of what Christ will do when he comes, that I believe it will not be done until he comes and dwells on this earth, where he once came and did the work no other man could do. The work he then had to do, could not have been done, had he not appeared

in flesh, for if it could have been done he would have re- mained in glory; the work he says, he will do hereafter

requires him here in person. When this great army of all the kings of the earth are destroyed, then, and not till then, will all human governments, and human religions come to nothing.

There are at the present day,many powerful obstacles, which hinder the universal knowledge of God over the whole earth, many of these were in the way in the days of Christ and the apostles, yet they were not removed; though God bore them witness with signs and wonders, and divers miracles,and gifts of the holy ghost. I never expect there will be any thing more powerful to work upon the minds of Jews or Gentiles, than has been, un. til Christ is seen coming in the clouds of heaven with power, and great glory : this will be the day of his power, when his people, the Jews, will be willing, and when Christ will frike through kings in the day of his wrath ; when he will wound the heads over many countries, and fill the places with their dead bodies ; when he will take to himself his great power, which will cause the nations to be angry.; yet he will flay them with the sword that proceedeth out of his mouth. These are the things which now prevent the increase of the knowledge of God, and the happiness which will be enjoyed when all nations call him blessed.

1. The unbelief of the Jews.-2. The love of idols, which now prevails almost over the whole world at this day.-3. The delusion which a great part of the world are in, on account of their belief of Mahomet, and hiş law.-4. The delusion which the doctrine of the church of Rome has caused among the kings of the earth. (This is the man of fin.)-5. The great love men have to the commandments and doctrines of men, and those who have given out these commands and doctrines; it is true that those who reject these things are not persuaded now as they once were ; but those who embrace these are as můch in love with human religion as ever they were, and would be as great persecutors as any before them ever were, if the government allowed them in it.

These things remain among almost all nations at this day; There are a few names here and there, who have not defiled their garments ; but in general it is not fo. When I see what has been done, I give up the idea of ever expecting that all kings will ever serve Christ until he appears on the earth ; this time I believe is not far off.

Daniel faw the old Roman government standing un. der the figure of the beast with iron teeth, when Christ came to reign upon the earth. Then he fays, thrones will be thrown down. Daniel vii. 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, “I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure' wool; his throne was like the fiery frame; and his wheels burning fire. A fiery {tream issued, and came forth from before him; thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand food before him ; the judgment was set, and the books were opened. I beheld then, be. 'cause of the voice of the great words which the horn fpake; I beheid, till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As con
