ist directly into the business centre of the town, and thus the circle is completed.

A number of highly enjoyable drives radiate from Manches ter. One of the most interesting is to follow School street to the town of Essex-a delightful wheel run for the rambling 'cyclist; the road, after getting away from the vicinity of the dwelling houses, is bordered on either side with a thickly growing native forest, and the road surface is one of the finest for the rubbertired wheel. A turn-off on this road at Pleasant street, on the left, will take one through a thick wood to the famous Chebacco House at the Lakes in Hamilton; but this trip cannot be recommended as a pleasing bicycle run, for the way is rough and has a continuous run of short and long steep hills.
