Act mentioned: And Whereas an Act was made in the Parlia ment of Ireland in the Thirty ninth Year of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, intituled An Aat the better to regulate the Manufacture and Sale of Gunpowder within this Kingdom; and which was to continue in force for the Term in the faid laft recited A& mentioned; both which recited Acts of the Thirty fixth and Thirty ninth Years afor faid were by an Act made in the Parliament of Ireland in the Fortieth Year of His prefent Majefty's Reign, and by another Act made in the Parliament of the United Kingdom in the Forty feventh Year of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, further continued; and the faid Acts are now in force until the First Day of August One thoufand eight hundred and fourteen And Whereas it is expedient that the faid Acts fhould be further continued; Be it therefore enacted by The King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That the faid recited Acts of the Thirty fixth and Thirty ninth Years aforefaid, fhall be and the fame are hereby further continued on and from the faid First Day of Auguft One thousand eight hundred and fourteen, for the Space of Seven Years, and no longer.

in an Act

Year of His prefent Majefty's Reign, intituled An Að te amend an A&t made in the laft Seffion of Parliament, for regulating and providing for the Relief of the Poor, and the Management of Infirmaries and Hofpitals in Ireland; it is enacted, That it fhall be lawful for the Grand Jury of any County of a City, or County of a Town, in Ireland, where any Fever Hofpital is established, to prefent any Sum not exceeding One hundred Pounds, at any Spring or Summer Affizes, for the Support of fuch Hofpital: And Whereas it is expedient to extend the faid A&t to all Counties in Ireland; and to increase the Amount of the Sum to be prefented by fuch Grand Jury;' Be it therefore enacted by The King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That whenever any Fever Hofpital has been or fhall be eftablished in any County, County of a City or County of a Town in Ireland, it fhall and may be lawful for the Grand Jury of fuch County, County of a City or County of a Town, at any Spring or Summer Affizes, and fuch Grand Jury is hereby authorized to prefent fuch Sum or Sums of Fever Hofpitals. Money, not exceeding the Sum of Two hundred and fifty Pounds at each fuch Affizes, as fhall appear to the faid Jury and to the Judge at fuch Affizes, to be neceflary for the Support of fuch Fever Hofpital; and fuch Sum fhall be raifed off the County at large, or County of a City or County of a Town, refpectively, and levied and applied accordingly.

Society of King's Inns, Dublin, for the erecting thereon a
Repository for Public Records in Ireland.

[23d July 1814.] HEREAS it is highly expedient, for the Security and convenient Ufe of the Public Records of Ireland, that ad⚫ditional Repofitories should be forthwith provided for them: And Whereas the Society of King's Inns, Dublin, stand seized and poffeffed to them and their Succeffors for ever, of certain Grounds in the County of the City of Dublin, styled The Plover Field, and Part of Redmond's Farm, both lying and fituate near Glafmaenoge, in the County of the City of Dublin, and under the Provifions of • an A&t made in the Parliament of Ireland, in the Thirty eighth 38 G. 3. (I.) Year of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, intituled An Ad to c.49. enable the Dean and Chapter of Chrift Church, Dublin, and other • Perfons therein named, to grant certain Grounds in the City of ⚫ Dublin to the Society of the King's Inns, Dublin, the faid Grounds are fubject to certain Rents in the faid A&t mentioned: And Whereas the faid Society of King's Inns have erected extenfive Buildings on the faid Grounds, Part of which Buildings, to the South of the Dining Hall of the faid Society, remain at present in ⚫ an unfinished State, and it will coft a confiderable Sum of Money to complete the faid unfinished Buildings, conformably to the Plan upon which the finished Part has been erected, and the fo completing it will confiderably ornament and improve the Property of the faid Society of King's Inns, and of the feveral Perfons beneficially interested in the faid Grounds; in confideration, therefore, that the faid unfinished Buildings fhall be completed conformably to the faid Plan upon which the finished Part is now built, the faid Society of King's Inns, the Dean and Chapter of Christ Church, Dublin, and the Prebendaries and Choral Vicars of the said Church, Richard Wilfon of the City of Dublin, Efquire, the Right Reverend Robert Lord Bishop of Oory, Affignee of the Right Honourable the Lord Viscount Mountjoy, John Nafh of the County of Cork, Efquire, and Thomas Whelan of Liffee Street, in the City of Dublin, Efquire, Affignee of William Fletcher of the City of Dublin, Efquire, to whom refpectively the faid Rents are now payable, have agreed and confented that a certain Piece or Plot of the faid Ground hereinafter particularly defcribed, on Part of which the faid unfinished Building now ftands, together with the faid unfinished Building, and alfo One other Piece or Parcel of Ground alfo hereinafter particularly defcribed, fhould be vefted in His Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors, for ever, for the Purposes hereinafter mentioned and set forth, freed and difcharged of and from all Rent

whatsoever, and of and from all Right, Title or Intereft of them, or any of them, or any Perfon deriving by, from or under them, or any of them, to the affigned Premifes, or any Part thereof; and the faid Society of King's Inns, Dean and Chapter, Prebendaries and Choral Vicars, and other Persons aforefaid, have alfo agreed and confented not to build upon, or permit any Perfon or Perfons deriving by, from or under them, or any of them, to build upon any of their Ground aforefaid to the South of the faid Buildings, and the Ground fo agreed to be vested in His Majefty; Be it therefore enacted by The King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That, from and after the paffing of this Act, all that Piece or Plot of Ground now belonging as aforefaid to the faid Society of King's Inns, Dublin, and on Part of which the said unfinished Building now ftands, the faid Piece or Plot of Ground containing One hundred and eighty nine Feet in Length from North to South, and ranging in a Line with the Weft Front of the Dining Hall of the faid Society, and containing in Depth from Weft to Eaft One hundred and eighty nine Feet, be the fame more or lefs, bounded on the Weft by King's Inns Place, on the North by the faid Society's Dining Hall, on the Eaft by Henrietta Street, and Ground belonging to the Reverend John Robinson, and on the South by other Part of the Ground belonging to the faid Society, as yet unbuilt on, together with the unfinished Buildings already mentioned; and alfo One other Piece or Parcel of Ground, containing in Breadth from North to South Thirty Feet in the clear, and extending in a ftraight Line from the South End of King's Inns Place aforefaid, to that Part of Conftitution Hill adjoining to Colerain Street, fhall be and the faid feveral Pieces or Parcels of Ground and Buildings are hereby vefted in His Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors, for ever, freed and difcharged of and from all Rent and Charges what foever, and of and from all Right, Title and Claim of any Perfon or Perfons to any Eftate or Intereft whatsoever therein, for the Purpofe, as to the faid first mentioned Picce or Plot of Ground, of erecting and completing thereon a Repofitory or Repofitories for Public Records, and alfo fuch Office or Offices, and fuch Court or Courts connected therewith, as to His Majefty, his Heirs or Succeffors may appear expedient, and for the Purpose, as to the faid laft mentioned Piece or Parcel of Ground, that the fame fhall be laid out as a Public Way or Paffage for the fhorter and more convenient Communica tion between the Four Courts and the intended Repofitory or Repofitories and Offices aforefaid.

II. Provided alfo, and be it enacted, That the faid unfinished Part of the faid Buildings fo hereby vefted in His Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors, fhall be completed and finished purfuant to the Plan, and correfponding with the Part which is now finifhed, and called The Dining Hall of the faid Society of King's Inns.

And be it further enacted, That, from and after the paffing of this Act, it fall not be lawful for the faid Society of King's Inns, or for any Perfon whatfoever, to build upon any Part of the faid Ground to the South of the faid Premifes hereby vefted in His Majefty, but that the fame fhall be, remain and continue unbuilt

upon.

Provided alfo, and be it enacted, That nothing in this A&t Rent to contiuue contained shall extend or be conftrued to extend to alter or abridge, payable. or in any wife diminish the Security given to the feveral Parties mentioned in the faid Act of the Thirty eighth Year of His prefent 38 G. 3. (L) Majefty's Reign, or any Perfon deriving by, from or under them, c. 49. or any of them, for the due Payment of the Rent thereby payable to them from the faid Society of King's Inns, Dublin, except fo far as relates to the faid unfinished Part of the faid Buildings and the Grounds hereby vefted in His Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors as aforefaid; but that the remaining Part of the faid Ground and Buildings of and belonging to the faid Society of King's Inns, and fuch other of their Property as was before liable for the Payment of the Rent of the faid Ground fhall be and remain ftill liable to the Payment of faid Rent as if this Act had never been made; and that all ways, means and methods, given by the faid Act of the Thirty eighth Year of His prefent Majesty's Reign, or which the Parties interested may have or be entitled to ufe, for the Recovery of faid Rent, or if any Charges at Law or in Equity, fhall remain and continue to them against the said Society, or any Perfons deriving by," from or under them, for fuch Part of the Property of the faid Society as is not hereby vested in His Majefty, his Heirs or Succeffors, as fully and effectually as if this A&t had never been made. V. Saving always to all Perfons, Bodies Politic and Incorporate, General Saving. other than and except the faid Society of King's Inns, the faid Dean and Chapter, the faid Prebendaries and Choral Vicars, and also the faid Richard Wilfon, the faid Lord Bishop of Offory, John Nafb and Thomas Whelan, their Heirs, Succeffors, Executors, Adminiftrators and Affigns refpectively, all fuch Right, Title, Interest, Profit, Claim or Demand, as they or any of them may have or claim in, to or out of the faid Premises fo vefted in His Majefty, or any Part thereof, to all Intents as if this Act had never been made.

An Act to amend an Act, made in the laft Seffion of Par-
liament, for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors in Ireland.
[23d July 1814.]

WHEREAS

ment, for the Relief of Infolvent Debtors in Ireland, it is § 2. enacted, that it fhall be lawful for every Person who shall be a Prifoner in any Prison in Ireland, upon any Process whatsoever, iffuing from any Court whatsoever, for or by reafon of any Debt, Damages, Cofts, Sum or Sums of Money, or Contempt for Non'payment of Money, and who fhall have been in Cuftody upon fome • Process for some or one of the said Debts or Demands, during the 'Space of Three Calendar Months or more, to apply by Petition in a fummary way to the Court from whence fuch Procefs iffued, for his or her Discharge from fuch Confinement, according to the Provifions of the faid recited Act: And it is also by the said recited Act enacted, that if any Perfon fhall be confined under the Process of Two or more Courts, then if any one of the faid Courts fhall be one of His Majefty's Superior Courts in Dublin, such Petition shall be presented to fuch Court; and if all fuch Courts, or any Two ⚫ or more of them, fhall be fuch Superior Courts, that then and in 54 GEO. fuch cafe fuch Petition fhall be prefented to fuch of the faid Superior Courts under whofe Process fuch Perfon fhall have been first detained in Cuftody; and if all the faid Courts fhall be inferior ་ Courts, then if such Prisoner shall be so detained in the County of Dublin, or County of the City of Dublin, fuch Petition fhall be • prefented to the Court of Common Pleas; and if in any other Part of Ireland, then fuch Petition fhall also be addressed to the faid • Court of Common Pleas, with Power to the said Court either to proceed on fuch Petition or to give Authority to the Judge or Judges of Affize for the County, County of a City or County of a Town in which any fuch Prifoner fhall be detained, to proceed as in the faid A&t is mentioned: And it is further enacted, that in cafe the Court to whom any Prifoner fhall apply to be dif charged, according to the Directions of the faid recited A&t, fhall be of Opinion that fuch Prisoner is entitled to the Benefit of the faid A&t, then and in fuch cafe the faid Court fhall fo order and adjudge And Whereas in the faid recited Act divers Claufes and Provifions are contained, for empowering the faid Courts refpectively to whom any fuch Prisoner fhall apply to be discharged, to • give Judgment, and to make divers Orders, and to do divers Matters and Things with respect to the Discharge of all Prifoners fo applying, and with refpect to the Affignment and Application of the Eftate and Effects of fuch Prisoners, as in the faid recited Act is fully and at large mentioned and fet forth: And Whereas it is expedient, that any one Judge of any Court in Ireland, to whom any Prisoner fhall apply to be discharged under the Provisions of the faid recited Act, fhould have Power to receive the Petition, and to direct the Difcharge of fuch Prisoners, and to do all fuch other Matters and Things refpecting the difcharging or remanding of any fuch Prifoner, as by the faid recited Act the Court to which fuch Prifoner fhall apply is empowered to do, provided fuch Prisoner shall not have had an Opportunity of applying to fuch Court;' Be it therefore enacted by The King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That, from and after the paffing of this Act, it fhall be lawful for every Person who shall be a Prifoner in any Prifon in Ireland, upon any Process whatsoever, iffuing from any Court whatsoever, for or by reason of any Debt, Damage, Cofts, Sum or Sums of Money, or Contempt for Nonpayment of Money, and who fhall have been in Cuftody upon fome Procefs for fome or one of the faid Debts or Demands, during the Space of Three Calendar Months or more, and who shall not have been fo in Cuftody in time to enable him or her to apply by Petition to the Court in Term Time, to apply in Vacation to any Judge of fuch Court by Petition; and it shall be lawful for fuch Judge in Vacation Time to receive fuch Petition, and any Schedule annexed thereto, and to proceed in hearing the Matter of fuch Petition, and to pronounce any fuch Judgment, and to make all fuch Orders, and to give all fuch Directions, and to do all fuch other Matters and Things requifite for the discharging or remanding of such Prisoner, and for the Affignment and Application of the Eftate and Effects of fuch Prifoner; and fuch Judge fhall have fuch Power to discharge or to remand such Prisoner, and in all other respects to act and do,
