Life, we (as the Apostle fays) might of all
Men be moft Miferable.

But Our Hope and Our Home is beyond the Grave: We look for a Better Country, wherein dwelleth Righteousness, and where it fhall have its fure Reward. Let us therefore in all our Troubles and Adverfities carry our Eye thither, and fix our Eye upon it; and the Comfortable View will support us under them.

Since we are but Strangers and Pilgrims here, let us not in our Paffage through this Life, look for all Accommodations and Conveniences, and every Thing to our Minds. Or if we meet with Hardships and Difficulties too, let us yet go on by Patient ContiGal. vi. 9.nuance in Well Doing, and in due Seafon we Shall Reap if we faint not.We shall then

Reap thofe Peaceable Fruits of Righteouf Pet.i. 8, nefs,in Joy unspeakable and full of Glory; Receiving the End of our Faith, even the Salvation of our Souls. The End will make abundant Recompence for all our Present Labours and Sufferings. Why fhould we then fink under any Worldly Sufferings or Sorrows? Or why fhould we not rather, with the Primitive Chriftians, Glory and Triumph 2 Cor. iv. in them, when our Light and Short Afflictions here will work out for Us, in the End, an exceeding Eternal Weight of Glory? So foon as we have finished our Courfe, we shall

then receive the Crown of Righteousness, 2 Tim. iv. which the Lord the Righteous Judge will 8. give to all thofe that Love, and with Patience wait for, his Appearing. Therefore let Heb. xii. us Run with Patience the Race that is fet before us, looking unto him, the Author and Finisher of our Faith. And ftill go on, Stedfaft and Unmoveable, always abounding 1 Cor. xv. in the Work of the Lord, for as much as we know that our Labour fhall not be in vain in the Lord. Now the God of Peace make you Perfect in every Good Work to Do his Will-And fill you with all Joy and Peace Heb. xiii. in Believing, that ye may abound in Hope thro' the Power of the Holy Ghost.
