As a child honesty, authority, and a disposition to be silent were your characteristics · -the expression of the delicate countenance and figure being thoughtful, direct, a little stern, and above everything nice. All felt the force of these qualities, and people who watched your gestures, movements, and especially your quiet attitudes, found you exquisitely attractive. But to those of us exposed daily to the influence of these traits, they existed with a comic charm that incited to violent manifestations, which you were swift to punish. Now a young lady grown, your life for some years past has been with the services of the church; content with the lilies and the azaleas on the altar, the incense and the lights that shine like stars in the darkened temple
