and empowered to raise a part of said appropriation by an ad valorem tax, and a part by poll-tax, if they see proper.

§ 2. For the purpose of meeting the requirements of this act, the county judge of said county may convene said court at such time as he may see proper.

§3. This act shall take effect and be in force from its pas

sage.

CHAPTER 561.

AN ACT to empower the county court of Union county to dispose of the delinquent lists by sale or otherwise.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. The county court of Union county, a majority of the justices agreeing, may by order dispose of the lists of delinquent tax payers of county revenue by re-enlisting them with the sheriff or other collecting officer for collection, or they may receive a part of any delinquent's taxes in full satisfaction of such taxes, or they may sell such lists, or parts of lists, at such times as they may deem best: Provided, however, That if such sale be ordered, the list in each justices' district shall be sold at some place in such district, after due advertisement of fifteen days at the court-house door, and at three of the most public places in such district; and the purchasers at such sales shall have the same right to collect by distraint as the county court have; but such right shall only continue for two years from such purchase.

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 563.

AN ACT repealing so much of the revised and amended charter of the city of Newport as creates the office of weigher and measurer.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That so much of the fourth section of an act, entitled "An act to revise and amend the charter of the city of NewLOC. L., VOL. I-38

port" as creates the office of weigher and measurer, be, and the same is hereby, repealed.

§2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after the third day of January, 1881.

CHAPTER 565.

AN ACT to amend an act, entitled "An act to charter the Silver Creek Turnpike Road Company, in Madison county."

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That whenever said company is, organized under their charter, and have constructed two miles and one half of a mile, they are hereby empowered to erect a gate and collect one half of the tolls now authorized by law.

CHAPTER 566.

AN ACT for the benefit of B. R. Walker, sheriff of Falton county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

31. That the Auditor of State is hereby directed to exterd the time of B. R. Walker, present sheriff of Fulton county, for whatever balance he may be owing on his revenue for said county for the year 1879, not in excess of two thousand dol lars, for a period of three months from the first day of April, 1880: Provided always, That before said relief be granted by said Auditor, said sheriff shall file in his office a written waiver of release, by reason of the extension of time hereby. granted to said sheriff by the sureties of said sheriff on his revenue bond for said year, to-wit, 1879, who are residents of the State. That the genuineness of their signatures to said written waiver shall be attested by the county clerk or county judge of said county, who saw said sureties subser be their names to the original revenue bond of said sheriff for the year 1879.

§ 2. That this act shall take effect from and after the first day of April, 1880.

CHAPTER 567.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the city of Dayton.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

1. That the city council of the city of Dayton, in Campbell, is hereby authorized and empowered to issue the coupon bonds of said city to the extent of ten thousand dollars.

2. That the bonds so issued shall bear interest at the rate of six per cent. per annum, and may be issued in denominations of ten dollars, twenty dollars, fifty dollars, one hundred dollars, and five hundred dollars each, and shall be due and payable in fifteen years from date, and be sold at not less than their par value.

§3. The interest coupons of the said bonds shall be receivable for taxes by the city treasurer due the said city; and the said bonds shall be exempt from taxation by the said city.

§ 4. Provided, That the bonds so issued under the provis ions of this act shall be used only in paying the debts heretofore contracted by the said city.

§ 5. This act shall take effect from and after its passage. Approved March 27, 1880.

CHAPTER 568.

AN ACT to exempt physicians of Barren, Monroe, and Metcalfe counties from working on roads upon certain conditions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That the physicians of Barren, Monroe, and Metcalfe counties be, and they are hereby, exempt from working on the public roads in said counties, upon the condition that they pay into the county treasury the sum of two dollars and fifty cents per annum each,

§ 2. This act to take effect from and after its passage. Approved March 27, 1880.

CHAPTER 569.

AN ACT to incorporate "The Kenton County Gunning and Fishing Club.” Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 2. That F. A. Prague, A. D. McPherson, J. S. Wayne,

J. A. P. Glore, J. S. Sandford, J. S. Hudson, A. Santer, E. S. Steward, George Perkins, T. J. Phelps, John Leathers, George Glore, J. W. Van Lunen, H. E. Queen, C. W. Herndon, Clinton Hume, C D. Foote, and Wes. B. Wilson, and their successors, be, and they are hereby, created a body corporate, under the name and style of "The Kenton County Gunning and Fishing Club," to have perpetual succession, with the right to obtain, hold, sell, and convey and dispose of such real and personal property, not to exceed $25,000 in value, as may be necessary to carry out the objects of this charter; and may make contracts that shall be binding, sue and be sued, make and transact all business in its corporate name for its corporate purposes; to use a common seal, renewable and changeable at pleasure; and may make and adopt a constitution and by laws for its government, not inconsistent with the laws of the land; and may amend, change, or abolish the same at pleasure, in the method therein provided.

§ 2. The objects of this society shall be to protect and increase the game and fish of this Commonwealth; to enforce the laws concerning them, and to promote and advance field sports.

§3. The said society shall also have power to shoot and fish upon, and use for its said corporate purposes, the premises owned, rented, or leased by them, at all times not inconsistent with the game laws of this Commonwealth.

§ 4. No member shall in any way be personally responsible for any liability of the said society; but the property of the society, as a corporation alone, shall be liable for all just claims against the corporation.

5. The county judge of said county may appoint such police as he may deem necessary to police and keep order on said premises.

§ 6. This act shall take effect from and after its passage. Approved March 27, 1880.

CHAPTER 570.

AN ACT for the benefit of W. H. and J. H. Davis, sheriff and late sheriff of Ballard county.

WHEREAS, On the night of the 17th of February, 1880, the court-house, in Ballard county, was consumed by fire, together with all the receipts of the sheriff, J. H. Davis, and late

sheriff, W. H. Davis, of Ballard county, for money collected on execution, which come to their hands as such sheriff. These receipts amount to many thousand dollars, and for remedy whereof,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. No suit or action shall be brought to charge said J. H. Davis or W. H. Davis for any money collected by either of them on executions prior to the 17th day of February, 1880 after the lapse of two years from the date of the passage of this act.

§ 2. That it shall be the duty of the beneficiaries of this act to cause the same to be published in the newspapers known as the Blandville Press and Weekly Paducah News, published at Paducah, Kentucky, by two insertions in each of said papers.

§3. This act shall take effect from and after its passage. Approved March 27, 1880.

CHAPTER 572.

AN ACT to incorporate the Bowling Green Electric Light and Heating Com

pany.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That E. L. Hines, John M. Wilkins, H. H. Skiles, and Wells Covington, and J. D. Duncan, and their associates and successors, be, and they are hereby, created a body corporate and politic, under the name and style of the Bowling Green Electric Light and Heating Company, for the purpose of heating by steam and lighting by electricity the city of Bowling Green and county of Warren, in the State of Kentucky, and shall have the right of perpetual succession; and shall be capable of contracting and being contracted with, suing and being sued, holding, selling, loaning, and conveying real estate and personal property as may be necessary or convenient to carry on its business.

§ 2. The capital stock of said company shall be fifty thousand dollars, in shares of one hundred dollars each, which may be subscribed by any individual or corporation; and said capital stock may be increased by the board of directors of
