CHAPTER 651.

AN ACT authorizing the stockholders of the Lexington and Big Sandy Railroad, Eastern Division, to change the name of said corporation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That at the next annual meeting of the stockholders of the Lexington and Big Sandy Railroad, Eastern Division, a majority of the stockholders represented at said meeting, in person or by proxy, may, by a majority vote, change the name of said corporation to that of Ashland Coal and Iron Railway Company. If such change shall be made, the same shall be entered upon the minutes of the meeting, and thereafter the corporation shall be known and called by the name so adopted. The fact of such change of name shall be published in some newspaper in the county of Boyd in at least two weekly issues of the paper.

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 653.

AN ACT to change the county lines of Pike and Martin counties, on the lands of Benjamin Taylor.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That the county line between the counties of Pike and Martin, on the lands of Benjamin Taylor, be, and the same are hereby, so changed as to run as follows: Beginning at the mouth of Big creek; thence running up said creek to Benjamin Taylor's lines of his land, and with his lines to include bis land in Pike county.

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 654.

AN ACT to establish the county line between Cumberland and Monroe coun

ties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That the county judges of Cumberland and Monroe

counties shall appoint the county surveyors of said counties as a board of commissioners, to run and plainly mark and establish the county line between said counties.

§ 2. Said commissioners shall begin their work at or near Black's Ferry, on the Cumberland river, on a day to be appointed by said judges, and shall continue from day to day until said line is established from the starting point to the Metcalfe county line.

$3. The said commissioners shall make three copies of their report in writing, one copy to be sent to the Secretary of State, and one copy furnished the county court clerks of said counties, who shall record the same in the order-books of the county courts of said counties.

$4. The county courts of the said counties shall allow their commissioner three dollars per day for said work.

§ 5. This act shall take effect from and after its passage. Approved March 31, 1880.

CHAPTER 655.

AN ACT to prevent certain kinds of stock from running at large in Simpson county..

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That it shall not be lawful for any person or persons to allow a bull calf over six months old to run at large in Simpson county.

§ 2. That any person or persons violating this act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and fined not less than five dollars for each violation, and all cost which may be recovered before any justice of the peace of the county, one half of said fine to go to the informant, and the other half to the trustee of the jury fund, to be applied to the common school fund.

3. This act to take effect and be in force from and after the first day of June.

CHAPTER 656.

AN ACT to amend an act, entitled "An act to charter the Elizabethtown and Paducah Railroad Company," approved February 16. 1880, chapter

220.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That an act to amend an act, entitled "An act to charter the Elizabethtown and Paducah Railroad Company," approved February 16, 1880, chapter 220 of the enrolled acts, be amended as follows: before the word charter, in the title of said act approved February 16, 1880, and before the word charter, in the first section of said act, insert these words: "amend the"

2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 657.

AN ACT for the benefit of H. Clay Wallis, of Lyon county. WHEREAS, H. Clay Wallis, of Lyon county, by reason of sickness and general bad health, is unable to labor to support himself and family; and being a poor man, and unable to pay the tax required by law to be paid by peddlers, and being desirous of trying to make something for himself and family by peddling in his neighborhood; therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That H. Clay Wallis, a citizen of Lyon county, Kentucky, be, and he is hereby, authorized to peddle goods, wares, merchandise, &c., except spirituous, vinous, or malt liquors, or the mixtures thereof, within the voting precincts of Rockcastle and Bethesda, in Trigg county, and the voting precincts of Lamaser and Tennessee Rolling-works, in Lyon county, for the period of two years from this date, without taking out the license now required by law.

§ 2. This act shall be in force from its passage.

CHAPTER 658.

AN ACT for the benefit of W. M. Wallis, of Trigg county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That W. M. Wallis, a citizen of Trigg county, Kentucky, be, and he is hereby, authorized and permitted to peddle goods, wares, merchandise, &c., except spirituous, vinous, or malt liquors, or the mixture thereof, in the county of Trigg, for the period of two years from this date, without taking out the license now required by law.

§2. This act shall be in force from and after its passage. Approved March 31, 1880.

CHAPTER 659.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Board of Internal Improvement for Shelby county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

1. That the charter of the Board of Internal Improvement. for Shelby county be so amended as to release the company from the care or responsibility of keeping in repair any part of said road now in the corporate limits of the city of Shelbyville.

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 660.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the city of Hopkinsville.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

1. That the charter of the city of Hopkinsville, approved March 5th, 1870, be so amended that all power and authority therein given to the board of councilmen of said city to issue the bonds of said city for any purpose, be, and the same is repealed; but it is not intended by this act to deprive said board of councilmen of any power and authority they now have to make appropriations in aid of railroads, turnpikes, &c., by direct taxation.

2. This act shall go into effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 661.

AN ACT to authorize the county court of Bourbon county to pay J. E. Paton, circuit clerk of said county, and clerk of the Bourbon court of common pleas, for continuing general index and cross-index to suits off the docket in said courts.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That the county court of Bourbon county is hereby authorized and required to pay to J. E. Paton, circuit clerk of said county, and clerk of the Bourbon court of common pleas, for continuing general index and cross-index to suits in said courts which have passed off the docket, such sum or sums as said county court may direct; and said county court is empowered to levy a tax on the assessed property of said county for said purpose, if necessary.

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 662.

AN ACT to authorize the county court of Ballard county to re-establish the justices' districts and voting precincts in said county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That it shall be the duty of the county court of Ballard county, at its regular term in the month of April or May, 1880, by order entered on the order-book of said court, to reestablish the justices' districts and voting precincts of said county, designating the lines and boundaries of said districts and voting precincts, and fixing the points at which elections shall be held in said districts.

§2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to amend an act, entitled "An act to incorporate the Methodist Mutual Association of Kentucky," approved March the 24th, 1880.
