CHAP IV. 1 The Levitts' services, 17 and officet.

AND the Lord spake unto Moses sod onto Aaron, saying,

2 Take the sum of the Ions of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers,

3 From thirty years old and upward r»en until fifty years old, all that enter :-;to the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 This /kali be the service of the sons ot Kohath in the tabernacle of the conjugation, about the most holy things:

5 And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron ihall come and his sons, and

it And they (hall take all the instruments of ministry, wherewith they minister in the sanctuary, and out them in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers' skins, and (hall put them on a bar;

13 And they (hall take away the allies from the altar, and spread a purple cloth thereon:

14 And they (hall put upon it all the vessels thereof, wherewith they minister about it, even the censers, the flefhhooks, and the (hovels, and the basons, all the vessels of the altar; and they (hall spread upon it a covering of badgers' ikins, and put to the staves of it.

j < And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath (hall come to bear it: but they (hall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

16 And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.

17 m And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

18 Cut ye not oss the tribe of the families of the- Kohathites from among the Levites:

• 9 But thus do unto them, that they may live and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things 1 Aaron and his sons (hall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:

20 But they (hall not go in to fee when the holy things are covered, lest they die.

21 And the Lor D spake unto Moses, saying,

23 From thirty year6 old and upward I until fifty years old (halt thou number J them; all that enter in'to perform the service, to do the work in the taber nacle of the congregation.

24 This is the service of the families of the Gerlhonites, to serve, and for burdens:

25 And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of the congregation, his covering, and the covering of the badgers' (kins that// above upon it, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,

26 And the hangings ofthe court, and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernaple and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so (hall they serve.

27 At the appointment of Aaron and his sons (hall be all the service of the sons of the Gerlhonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye mall appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.

28 This is the service of the families of the sons of Gerfhou in the tabernacle of the congregation: and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

29 As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their families, by the house of their fathers,

30 From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth into the service, to do the work of the tabernacle of the congregation.

31 And this it the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tabernacle of the congregation; the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and sockets thereof,

32 And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service: and by name ye mall reckon the instruments ofthe charge of their burden.

33 This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tabernacle of the congregation, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

34. And Moses and Aaron and Lhe chief of the congregation numbered the Cons of the Kohathites after their families, and after the bouse of their fathers,

35 From thirty years old and upward

45 These be those that were numbe ed of the families of the sons of Merai whom Moles and Aaron numbered a cording to the word of the Lo a D by tl hand of Moses.

46 All those that were numbered the Levites, whom Moses and Aarc and the chief of Israel numbered, aft their families, and after the house their fathers,

47 From thirty years old and upwai even unto fifty years old, every one thi came to do the service of the miniltr; an I the service of the burden in the u bernacle of the congregation,

offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal: he (hall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

16 And the priest (hall bring her near, and set her before the Lo R D:

17 And the priest (hall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest (hall take, and put/'/ into the water:

18 And the priest shall set the woman before the Lor D, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:

19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness luith another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:

20 But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:

Ii Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The Lor a make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the Lor D doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;

22 And this water that causeth the curse sliall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to ("well, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman (hall fay, Amen, amen.

23 And the priest (nail write these curses in a book, and he (hall blot them out with the bitter water:

24 And he sliall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the cursestiall enterinto \\et.andbecomeh\ttex.

25 Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the offering before the Lord, and offer it upon the altar:

26 And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.

27 And when he hath mad': her to drink the water, then it sliall come to pass, that, if me be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into heri and

become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh (hall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

iS And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then slie (hall be free, and (hall conceive feed.

19 This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled;

30 Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and (hall set the woman before the Lord, and the priest (hall execute upon her.all this law.

31 Then (hall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman (hall bear her iniquity.

CHAP. VI.

1 The laiu of the Nazarite. 12 The form

of bUffing the people.

AND the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, » Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman (hall separate themscl<ves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the Lor D f

3 He (hall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and (hall drink no' vinegar of wine, or vinegur of strong drink, neither (hall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.

4 All the days of his separation (hall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the hulk.

5 All the days of the vow of his separation there (hall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he scparateth himself unto the Lor D, he (hall be holy, and (ha\\ let the locks of the hair of his head grow.

6 All the days that he separateth himself unto the Lord he (hall come at no dead body.

7 He (hall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head.

8 All the days of his separation he is holy unto the Lord.

9 And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he (hall (have his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day (hall he (have it.

10 And on the eighth day he (hall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, Co the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:

11 And the priest (hall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a

burnt offering, and make an atoneme: for him, for that he sinned by the dea< and shall hallow his head that fame da; 12 And he (hall consecrate unto tl Lord the days of his separation, ar shall bring a lamb of the first year for trespass offering: but the days that wei before (hall be lost, because his separ; tion was defiled.

_ 13 And this is the law of the Naz: rite, when the days of his separatia are fulfilled: he (hall be brought unl the door of the tabernacle of the cor gregation:

14 And he (hall offer his offering unt the Lord, one he lamb of the first yea without blemish for a burnt offering and one ewe lamb of the first year with out blemish for a sin offering, and on ram without blemish for peace offerings

15 And a basket os unleavened bread cakes of fine flour mingled with oil and wafers of unleavened bread anoint ed with oil, and their meat offering, am their drink offerings.

16 And the priest stiall bring them be fore the Lord, and shall offer his sij offering, and his burnt offering:

17 And he shall offer the ram fbi a sacrifice of peace offerings unto th« Lord, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also his meal offering, and his drink offering.

18 And the Nazarite sliall (nave the head of his separation at the door of the t.ihernacle of the congregation, and (hall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings.

19 And the priest shall take the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and (hall put them upon the hands of the Nazarite, after the hair e/"his separation is (haven:

10 And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the Lord: this is holy for the priest, with the wave breast, and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine.

ii This is the law of the Nazarite who hath vowed, and ofhh offering unto the Lord for his separation, beside that that his hand shall get: according to the vow which he vowed, so he must do after the law of his separation.

22 f And the Lor D spake unto Moses, saying,

23 Speak unto Aaron and untohis sons, saying, On this wise ye (hall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,

24 The Lo R D bless thee, andkeep thee:

dedication of the tabernacle.

15 The Lo * D make his face shine upa rte, and be gracious unto thee:

i5 The Lo R D lift up his countenance ipcs thee, and gt^e thee peace.

:: And they mall put my name upon tie children of Israel; and I will bless

6 AndMoses tookthewaggons and the oxen, and gave them unto the Levites.

7 Two waggons and four oxen he gave unto the sons of Gershon, according to their service:

8 And four waggons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according into their service, under the hand of Itfcaroar the son of Aaron the priest.

9 But unto the sons of Kohatn he gave Bom: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them <was that they should bear upon their shoulders.

isf And the princes offered for dedicating of the altar in the day that it was anointed, even the princes offered their offering before the altar.

11 And the Lord said unto Moses, They shall offer their offering, each prince on his day, for the dedicating of the altar.

12 And he that offered his offering the first day was Nalishon the {on of Amœinadab, of the tribe of Judah:

1 j And his offering was one silver charger, the weight thereof •was an hun«lrtd and thirty Jhekels, one sliver bowl ff i*w.ty shekels, after the shekel of the

sanctuary; both of them w re full of fine Hour mingled with oil for a meat offering:

14 One spoon of ten Jhekels of gold, full of incense:

«S One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt offering:

16 One kid of the goats for a sin offering:

17 And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he goats, five lambs of the first year: this iuas the offering of Nahfhon the son of Amminadab.

18 On the second day Netbaneel the son of Zuar, prince of Iilachar.did offer:

19 He offered for his offering one silver charger, the weight whereof -was an hundred and thirty Jhekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering:

20 One spoon of gold of ten shekels, full of incense:

2i One young bullock, one ram, one hmb of the first year, for a burnt offering:

22 One kid of the goats for a sin offering:

2 3 And for a sacrifice of peace offeri ngs, two oxen, five rams, five he goats, five lambs of the first year: this iuas the offering of Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

24 On the third day Ehab the son of Helon, prince of the children of Zebulun, did offer: _

25 His offering iuas one silver charger, the weight whereof iuas an hundred and thirty Jhekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering:

26 One golden spoon of ten Jhekels, full of incense:

27 One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt offering:

28 One kid of the goats for a sin offering:

29 And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he goats, five lambs of the first year: this was the offering of Eliab the son of Helon.

30 On the fourth day Elizur the son of Shedeur, prince of the children of Reuben, did offer:

31 His offering iuas one silver charger of the weight of an hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy sher kels, after the shekel of the sanctuary;
