pasture, are men, and I am your God, faith the Lord God.

CHAP. XXXV.

The judgement of mount Seir for their hatred of Israel.

MOREOVER the word of the Lo R D came unto me, saying,

t Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,

3 And sav unto it, Thus faith the Lord God; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against: thee, and I will make thee most desolate.

+ I will lay thy cities waste, and thou (halt be desolate, and thou (halt know that I am the Lord.

5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast (hed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an endi

6 Therefore, as I live, faith the Lord God, I will prepare tliee unto blood, and blood (hall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood (liall pursue thee.

7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that pafleth out and him that returueth.

% And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers (hall they fall that are slain with the sword.

9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities ihall not return: and ye (hall know that 1 nwthe Lord.

Io Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries fliall be mine, and we will poslel's it; whereas the Lo R D was there:

ii Therefore, as I live, faith the Lord God, I will even do according to thine »nger, andaccordingtothineenvy which thou lust used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.

12 And thou slialt know that 1 am the Lord, and that Miave heard all thy blasphemies which thou halt spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.

13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

H Thus faith the Lord God; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.

. 15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it *as desolate, so will I do unto thee; thou

slialt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they lhall know that I am the Lor D.

CHAP. XXXVI. 1 ThelanJoJ Israelis comforted by the heathens JeJiruSion, 8 and God's blessing. ALSO, thou Ion of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lo R D:

2 Thus (kith the Lord God; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are our's in posl'eslion:

3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus faith the Lord God; Because they have, made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every tide, that ye might be a posledion unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

4 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus faith the Lord Go Dtothemountains.and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate waltes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;

5 Therefore thus faith the Lord God; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residueof the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Ilrael, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus faith the Lord God; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the lhame os the heathen:

7 Therefore thus faith the Lord God } I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they (hall bear their (hame.

8 fl But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye (hall (hoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel: for they are at hand to come.

9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye (hail be tilled and sown:

10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all oFit: and the cities (hall be inhabited, and the wastes ihall be builded:

1« And I will multiply upon yon man and beast; and they (hall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto

you than at your beginnings; and ye shall know that I am the Lo K D .

12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they mall possess thee, and thou (halt be their inheritance, and thou (halt no more henceforth bereave them of men.

13 Thus faith the Lord Go n ; Because they say unto you, Thou land devoured up men, and hast bereaved thy nations;

1+ Therefore thou (halt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, faith the Lord Goo.

15 Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither (halt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, faith the Lord God.

16 ^f Moreover the word of the Lo % n came unto me, saying,

17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their OAn land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

1S Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:

i9And I I'c.vtttred them among thehenthen, and they were dispelled through the countries: accord ing to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

20 And when they entered unto the heathen whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them,Tliese«r^ the peopleof the Lord, and are gone forth out of his land.

21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.

22 Therefore say unto the house os Israel, Thus faith the Lord God j I do not this for your fakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's fake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

13 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen (hall know that I am the Lor D, laith the Lord Gon, when I (hall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24. For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of ail countries, and will bring you into your own land.

15 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, aud ye (hall be clean: from

all your filthiness, and from all your idols will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flelh, and I willgive you an heart ofnelh.

2 7 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and yemallkeepinyjudgements.anddo/At'ra.

28 And ye lhall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye lhall be my people, and I will be your God.

29 I will also (ave you from all your uncleannelses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye (hall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

31 Then (hall ye remember your o«n evil ways, and your doings thatiiw not good, and shall lothe yoursclres in your own fight for your' iniquities and for your abominations.

32 Not for your fakes do I this, faith the Lord God, be it known unto you-. be astiamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

33 Thus faith the Lord God ; In the day that I (hall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause yen to dwell in the cities, and the wanes (hall be builded.

34. And the desolate land (hall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the fight of all that pasted by.

35 And they mall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, end are inhabited.

36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lor D build the ruined places, <t*/pla>i< that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken //, and I will do it.

37 Thus faith the Lord God-, Iwill yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so (hall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they mail know that I am theLo * »•

9 Then said he'unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and soy to the wind. Thus faith the Lord GdD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

1 j 4Q Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is ldst: we are cut off for our parts.

17 And join them one to anotherinto one stick; and they (hall become one in thine hand.

i'8 And when the children of thy people (hall speak unto thee, laying, Wilt thou not (hew us what thou meanest by these?

19 Say unto them, Thus faith the Lord God ; Behold, I will take the stick of Jo* seph, which is in the hand of Ephrajm, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with hint,#w»with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they (hall be one in mine hand.

20 And the sticks whereon thou writest (hall be in thine hand before their eyes,.

'ii fl" And-soy unto them, Thus faith the Lord God ; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and Will gather them on every side,, and bring them into their own land:

22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king (hall be king to them all: and they (hall be no more two nations, neither (hall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

23 Neither sliall they defile themselves, any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will savethent out of nil their dwelling places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them 1 so (hall they be my people, and I will-b* their God.; • ■ '■■ '; .>

God'j judgement against him.

AND the word of the Lorp came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Melhech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

■j And say, Thus faith the Lord Go o; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Melhech and Tubal:

4 And I will turn thee back, and put nooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all forts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and lhields, all of them handling swords:

f Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them j all of them with (hield and helmet:

6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all hisbands •. and many people with thee.

7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are alsembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.

8 f After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou slialt come into the land that u brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Ilrael, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they (hall dwell safely all of them.

9 Thou (halt ascend and come like a storm, thou (halt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

to Thus faith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the fame time lhall things come into thy mind, and thou (halt think an evil thought:

11 And thou (halt fay, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages: I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, • i a Tc take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are »aau inhabited, and upon the psople that are gathered out of the nation*, which have gotten cattle aaid goods, that dwell in the midstof theland. j$Sheba,a<ulDedan, and the merchants

of Tarfhiih, with all the young liom thereof, (hall fay unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

14. fl Therefore, son of man, prophesy arid say unto Gog, Thus faith the Lord God; In that day when my people ot Ilrael dwelleth lafely, slialt thou not know it?

15 And thou (halt come from tby place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

, 16 And thou (halt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to covertk land; it lhall be in the latter days, and 1 will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I (hall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

17 Thus faith the Lord God; v^rrthou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of I srael, which prophesied in those days many years thai I would bring thee against them? _ 1 8 And it (hall coineto pass at the lirae time, when Gog (hall come against the land of Israel, laith the Lord God, tkt my fury lhall come up in my face.

ro, For in my jealousy and in the lire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there (hall be a great (baking in the land of Israel;

20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, stud! 2t And I will call for a sword agaiiil him, throughout all my mountains, faith the Lord Go D : every man's sword fluil be against his brother.

22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, andgreatliailstones, fire, and brimstone.

THEREFORE, thou son of man, prophely against Gog, and lay, Thus faith the Lord God; Behold, I em against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Melhech and Tubah

2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:

j And I will finite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

4. Thou malt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every fort, and to the beasts of the sieid to be devoured.

5 Thou malt fall upon the open field: for I hare spoken 1/, faith the Lord God.

6 And I will send a sire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelelly in the isles: and they Hull know that I am the Lord.

7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; andl will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen (hall know that 1 tun the Lor n, the Holy One in Israel.

8 ^J Behold, it is come, and it is done, Ciith the Lord God; this is the day whereof I have spoken.

9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel (hall go forth, and shall set on sire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the. arrows, and the handltaves, and the spears, and they lhall burn them with fire seven years:

10 So that they lhall take no wood out cf the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they (hall burn the weapons with fire -. and they lhall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, faith the Lord God.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will j;ive unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the lea: and it (hall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog, and all his multitude: and they (hall call /'/ The valley of Hamon-gog.

ix And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.

13 Yea, all the people of the land (hall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, laith the Lord God.

continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers thole that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.

15 And the passengers that pal's th rough the land, when any teeth a man's bone, then (hall he let up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog.

16 And also the name of the city shall he Hamonah. Thus lhall they cleanse the land.

17 fl And, thou son of man, thus faith the Lord God; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice tor you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.

18 Ye (hall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Balhan.

19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

20 Thus ye (hall be filled at my table with liorses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, faith the Lord God.

2i And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen (hall see my judgement that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.

22 So the hause of Israel shall know that I am the Lo R D their God from that day and forward.

23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into (he hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword,

24. According to their uncleanness, and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.

25 Therefore thus faith the Lord Go D ; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;

26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
