Sect. 120. Jesus proposes a question to the Pharisees

concerning the Messiah. 122 411, Mat. While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus

lasked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose

son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. 12 35

Mar. And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the

temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David ? (that is, I know your doctors tell you so, but bow can they make their opinion consistent with David's

Sect. 121. Woes denounced against the Pharisees.
Mat. Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disci.

Moses' seat. All, therefore, whatsoever they bid you
observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after
their works; for they say, and do not. For they bind
heavy burdens, and grievous to be borne, and lay
them on men's shoulders, but they themselves will
not move them with one of their fingers. But all

their works they do for to be seen of men : 381 Mar. And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of

the scribes,

Sect. 123. Jesus foretels the destruction of Jerusalem.
Mat. And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple;

Came to him, for to shew him the buildings of

the temple. Mar. And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples
