But when the sun was up, it was scorched ;3 because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the "thorns up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. And other fell on 'good ground, and did fruit that sprang up and increased; and

* PRO. xxiii. 5: Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. 1 TIM. vi. 9, 17: But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.
