Thomas Teomans, Samuel Collins, Adam Edgar and John Elliott, and John Pybus, by Nineteen feveral Indentures of Leafe; And alfo all that their other Piece-or Parcel of Land, fituate, lying and being in The Sanctuary aforefaid, abutting on the North, the Eaft, and the South Parts on The Sanctuary aforefaid, and on the Weft Parts on Love Lane aforefaid; all which faid lat mentioned Piece or Parcel of Land had been theretofore demifed to George Stubbs and Thomas Bray, William Moon, Charles Snow, Samuel Hanbury, James Beecher and David Green, and others, by Six feveral Indentures of Leafe, all which faid Pieces or Parcels of Land or Ground were the Land or Ground which had been by the aforefaid Act "of the Forty eighth Year aforefaid authorized to be granted by the faid Dean and Chapter to the Commiffioners under the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year aforefaid, for the Term of Nineteen Years, at fuch Yearly Rent or Rents, and under fuch Covenants and Agreements, as fhould be agreed upon between the Leffors and the Commiffioners for executing the faid laft mentioned A&t; To Hold the fame Premifes, with the Appurtenances unto the faid Commiffioners of His Majefty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenues, and their Succeffors, from the Annunciation of the Bleffed Virgin Mary One thoufand eight hundred and ten, for and during. and unto the full End and Term of Ninety fix Years from thence next following, and fully to be complete and ended, at and under the Yearly Rent of Four hundred and fifteen Pounds Sixteen Shillings and Six pence, of lawful Money of Great Britain, payable Quarterly as therein mentioned, and the further or other Rents of Forty Shillings, and One Pound Fourteen Shillings and Eight pence therein mentioned, and under and fubject to the Covenants, Provifoes and Agreements therein contained, and on the Part and Behalf of the faid Commiffioners and their Succeffors, to be paid, obferved, performed and kept in refpect of the fame Premifes: And Whereas by another Indenture of Leafe bearing Date the Fifth Day of November One thoufand eight hundred and eleven, and made between the then Dean of the Collegiate Church aforefaid, and the Chapter of the fame Church of the one Part, and the faid Commiffioners of His Majefty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenues of the other Part, the faid Dean and Chapter purfuant to and in exercife of the Powers and Authorities vefted in them, by the last mentioned Act, did demife, grant and to farm let unto the faid Commiffioners and their Succeffors, all thofe their Two feveral Pieces or Parcels of Ground, fituate, lying and being in Great George Street, in the Parish of Saint Margaret in the City of Westminster, whereon lately ftood Two feveral Meffuages or Tenements, Erections and Buildings, lately numbered Sixteen and Seventeen in the fame Street, fronting North upon Great George • Street aforefaid, and abutting upon the South and Eaft Parts upon other Ground demifed to the faid Commiffioners under the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year aforefaid; and the Weft Part upon Ground demifed to the faid Archibald Edmonstone and Thomas Duck ett; To Hold the faid Premifes with the Appurtenances unto the faid Commiffioners of His Majefty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenues, and their Succeffors, from the Annunciation of the Bleffed Virgin Mary One thoufand eight hundred and ten, for and. during and unto the full End and Term of Ninety fix Years from

⚫ thence next following, and fully to be complete and ended, at and ⚫ under the Yearly Rent of Thirty eight Pounds Five Shillings of • lawful Money of Great Britain, payable Quarterly as therein men⚫tioned, and under and subject to the Covenants, Provifoes and Agreements therein contained, and on the Part and Behalf of the faid Commiffioners and their Succeffors to be obferved, performed and kept in respect of the fame Premifes: And Whereas it is ⚫ expedient for carrying into further Effect the Improvement of the • Streets and Places near to Westminster Hall and the Two Houses of 'Parliament aforefaid, that the Fee Simple and Inheritance of the • Pieces or Parcels of Ground and Hereditaments comprized in the faid feveral Indentures of Leafe fhould be purchased by the 'faid Commiffioners of the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year of His prefent Majefty, and that fuch Alterations and Improvements as ' hereinafter mentioned, independent of fuch Purchase, fhould alfo be made in the Streets and Places aforefaid, and that fuch Powers ' of leafing Parts of the Ground which may be hereafter purchased by the faid Commiffioners under the faid Acts of the Forty fixth 'Year aforefaid as hereinafter mentioned, for the Purposes herein' after mentioned, fhould be given to the Lords Commiffioners of His Majefty's Treasury: And Whereas the Commiffioners of the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year of His prefent Majefty are in Treaty with the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of "Saint Peter in Westminster aforefaid, for the Purchase of the Fee Simple and Inheritance of the Pieces or Parcels of Grounds and 'Hereditaments comprized in the said several Indentures of Leafe, and alfo of other Ground and Hereditaments not comprized in the faid Indentures of Leafe or either of them; but inafmuch as the Rents referved by the faid Indentures of Lease respectively ⚫ cannot be extinguished nor the faid Leafes merged and extinguished by virtue of any Power at present vested in the faid Commiffioners; and as Doubts have been entertained whether the Powers of pur'chafing, given to the faid Commiffioners by the faid recited Acts of the Forty fixth and Forty eighth Years of His faid Majefty, have not been extinguished or fufpended fo far as relates to fuch of the faid Premifes as are comprized in the faid Leafes refpectively, by ⚫ virtue of the fame Leafes or of the faid Powers of leafing contained in the faid Acts;' Be it therefore enacted by The King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parlia ment affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That it fhall and Commiffioners may be lawful to and for the faid Commiffioners for the time being under of the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year aforefaid, or any fuch Three 46 G.3. c. 89. of them as therein mentioned, and they are hereby authorized and purchase Preempowered, fubject to the fame Restrictions and Controul of the mifes comLords Commiffioners of the Treafury, as are contained in the faid prized in IndenA&t, to purchase the Fee Simple and Inheritance, and all other tures. Eftates, Rights and Interefts, of and in all and fingular the Ground and Hereditaments comprized in the Two feveral hereinbefore in Part recited Indentures of Leafe, in fuch and the fame manner, and for fuch and the fame Purposes, in all refpects, as they could or might have done in cafe the faid Powers of leafing had not been given as aforefaid, and the faid Leafes of the Nineteenth Day of July One thoufand eight hundred and ten, and the Fifth Day of November One

thousand eight hundred and eleven, had not been granted as aforefaid and that all and fingular the Powers, Regulations, Provifions and other Proceedings directed by the faid Acts of the Forty fixth and Forty eighth Years of His faid Majefty, except fo far as the Act of the Forty fixth is varied or repealed by the faid Act of the Forty eighth Year of His faid Majefty, or as the fame Acts, or either of them, are or is varied or repealed by this prefent Act, touching the Purchases, Affeffments, Valuations and Payment of Purchase Money, and the vesting of Eftates purchased, and every other Direction therein refpectively given, except as aforefaid, fhall be in full Force and Effect with refpect to the Purchase or Purchases so to be made by virtue of this Act as aforefaid.

II. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That, deration Money from and immediately after fuch of the faid Pieces or Parcels of paid Indentures Ground and Hereditaments fo intended to be purchased as aforefaid, as are comprized in the said several Indentures of Leafe, fhall have been purchased as aforefaid, and the Confideration Money for the Purchase thereof fhall have been paid, the faid feveral Indentures of Leafe and the Rents thereby respectively reserved, and every Covenant, Agreement, Provifo, Matter and Thing therein respectively contained, fhall ceafe, determine and be void.

III. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforesaid, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for the faid Commiffioners of the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year aforefaid, with the Consent of the Lord High Treasurer, or the Commiffioners for the time being, for executing the faid Office of Lord High Treasurer, or any Three of them, to inclofe and plant all or any Part or Parts of the Ground already purchafed or hereafter to be purchased under the Powers of the aforefaid Acts of the Forty fixth and Forty eighth Years aforefaid, or of this Act, or any of them, in fuch manner as the faid Commiffioners under the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year of His faid Majefty, fhall think proper, and that the fame fhall thenceforth continue fo inclosed and planted, and that no Buildings fhall be erected thereupon, or upon any Part thereof, without fuch Direction and Confent as aforefaid.

IV. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That Ground lying on in cafe the Piece or Parcel of Ground fituate, lying and being on the Weft Side of Little George Street, the North Side of Bow Street Little George Street purat the Back of the new Court House, and the South Side of Prince's chafed, Treafury Mews, containing in Length from Eaft to Weft, as well on the may demile fame North as the South Side, One hundred and two Feet Six Inches, little to Patron, &c. of more or lefs, and from North to South, as well on the Eaft as the Westminster

Weft Side Seventy Feet Six Inches, little more or lefs fhall at any time hereafter be purchased by the faid Commiffioners of the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year aforefaid, in pursuance of the Powers contained in the faid Acts of the Forty fixth and Forty eighth Years aforefaid, or either of them, it shall and may be lawful to and for the Lord High Treasurer or the Commiffioners for executing the said Office of Lord High Treasurer for the time being, or any Three or more of them, at any time or times after the Purchase or Purchases laft mentioned shall have been made, and notwithstanding any Act or Acts of Parliament now in force to the contrary, by Indenture or Indentures to be inrolled in one of His Majefty's Courts of Record at Westminfler, to grant or demife all or any Part or Parts of the

faid laft mentioned Piece or Parcel of Ground to the Patron, Prefident
and Vice Presidents for the time being, of the School commonly called
or intended to be called The Westminster National Free School, and
their Succeffors, for any Term or Terms of Years not exceeding
Ninety nine Years from the Date or refpective Dates thereof at a
Pepper Corn Rent, during the whole of the Term or Terms of Years
thereby to be granted, and under and fubject to fuch Covenants for
building and keeping in Repair and infuring from Lofs or Damage
by Fire, and fuch other Covenants, Conditions, Restrictions and
Agreements as the Lord High Treasurer or the Commiffioners for
executing the faid Office of Lord High Treasurer for the time
being, or any Three or more of them, fhall approve: Provided Provifo.
nevertheless, that every fuch Grant or Leafe be on the Face of it
expreffed to be made in Truft for the Purposes of the faid Weflminfter
National Free School, and that a Provifo be therein inferted for
making void the fame refpectively, in the Event of the Ground
therein to be comprized, and the Buildings to be erected thereon, or
any of them, or any Part thereof being used for any Purpose or
Purposes whatsoever unconnected with the faid School.

V. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That Westminster the Patron, Prefident and Vice Presidents for the time being of the National Free faid School fhall be and they are hereby conftituted a Corporation School incorpo by the Name of "The Patron, Prefident and Vice Prefidents of rated. the Westminster National Free School," in order to enable them to accept and take in a Corporate Capacity by the Name aforefaid, the Grant or Grants, Leafe or Leafes hereinbefore authorized to be granted, and to execute a Counterpart or Counterparts thereof, and for other Purposes of the faid School; and by that Name for the Purposes aforefaid they fhall and may have and ufe a Common Seal, and may fue and be fued, implead and be impleaded, but nothing in this A&t or in fuch Grant or Grants, Leafe or Leafes contained or to be contained, fhall extend to charge the Perfon or Perfons of him or them, or of his or their Heirs, Executors or Administrators, or his or their or any of their own proper Lands or Tenements, Goods or Chattels, with the Performance of all or any of the Covenants, Conditions or Agreements in the fame Grant or Grants, Leafe or Leafes, or any of them, to be contained; but all and fuch Action and Actions, Suit and Suits, as fhall be brought or profecuted for or in refpect of the fame Covenants, Conditions and Agreements, or any of them, fhall be brought or profecuted against the faid Patron, Prefident and Vice Prefidents, and their Succeffors for the time being, in their Corporate Capacity.

VI. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That New or imall and fingular the Pieces or Parcels of Ground, fituate, lying and proved Streets being in the Parish of Saint Margaret, within the Liberty of Weft- vested in Comminfler, which by any Order or Orders of the Commiffioners of the pointed for faid Act of the Forty fixth Year aforefaid, have already been laid into Parish of or fhall hereafter be laid into and form Part of the new Streets, Lanes St. Margaret and Ways made and set out or to be made and fet out by the Order under of the fame Commiffioners, or which have been or fhall hereafter be added to any former or other Streets, Lanes and Ways, fhall, as to the Pieces or Parcels of Ground already laid into and forming Part of the new Streets, Lanes and Ways, or already added to any or other Streets, Lanes and Ways, from and immediately after the 54 GEO. Payment of the Purchase Money for the fame; and as to the Pieces or Parcels of Ground hereafter to be laid into and to form Part of the new Streets, Lanes and Ways, or hereafter to be added to any former or other Streets, Lanes and Ways, from time to time from and immediately after the fame shall have been laid into and form Part of fuch new Streets, Lanes and Ways, or have been added to any former or other Streets, Lanes and Ways, be vested in the Committee Men for the time being, appointed for the faid Parish of Saint Margaret, under an Act made and paffed in the Eleventh Year of His present Majefty, intituled An Ad to amend and render more effectual feveral Aas made relative to paving, cleanfing and lighting the Squares, Streets, Lanes and other Places within the City and Liberty of Westminster, and Parts adjacent, To Hold to fuch last mentioned Committee Men and their Succeffors for the Use of the Public, and for the Purposes of the faid last mentioned A&t and the feveral Acts therein referred to; and they the faid Committee Men and their Succeffors are hereby authorized and required and directed to accept and take all fuch Pieces or Parcels of Ground under their Jurifdiction as Committee Men under the faid Act of the Eleventh Year aforefaid, and to use and exercise over the fame, and over the Owners and Occupiers of Houfes, Buildings and Tenements adjoining and near thereto, all fuch Powers, Authorities and Remedies, as they the fame Committee Men are by the faid Act of the Eleventh Year aforefaid, and the feveral Acts therein mentioned, authorized to use and exercise over the whole Streets, Lanes and Ways now within the Jurifdiction of the fame Committee Men under the fame Acts, and over the Owners and Occupiers of Houfes, Buildings and Tenements, fituate in the faid old Streets, Lanes and Ways.

VII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That it fhall and may be lawful at any time or times hereafter for the Commiffioners for executing the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year aforefaid, with the Confent of the Lord High Treafurer, or the Commiffioners for executing the Office of Lord High Treasurer for the time being, or any Three of them, to refume and take Poffeffion of the Pieces or Parcels of Ground fo laid out or hereafter to be laid out for the new Streets, Lanes or Ways, or added or to be added to any former or other Streets, Lanes or Ways as aforefaid, for the Purposes of the faid Acts of the Forty fixth and Forty eighth Years aforefaid, or any of them, and from and immediately after the fame respectively shall have been so resumed and taken Poffeffion of, or the Part or Parts thereof so refumed and taken Poffeffion of, fhall thenceforth by virtue of this prefent Act be divested out of the faid Committee Men, and be abfolutely vefted in the faid Lord High Treafurer, or the Commiffioners for executing the Office of Lord High Treasurer for the time being, for the Purposes of the faid Acts of the Forty fixth and Forty eighth Years aforefaid; any thing hereinbefore contained to the contrary thereof notwithstanding.

VIII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That may difpofe of to it fhall and may be lawful to and for the faid Commiffioners under the faid Act of the Forty fixth Year aforefaid, or any fuch Three of them as therein mentioned, to difpofe of to the Commiffioners for the time being under an Act of Parliament paffed in the Forty seventh Year of His faid Majefty, intituled An Ad to amend Three Ads of the Eighteenth, Thirty ninth and Forty fourth Years of His prefent
